  1. I was a subbie climber for 8yrs started at 16 but it ended up turning to my own company so i could do as i wanted, when i wanted and how i wanted to do it for how much money i wanted. This was also due to my back being curved sideways and gives me alot of pain every day i knew i couldnt keep up pace with other subbies so i needed to be the employer eventually. I think most climbers should give it ago at some point you get to work with different firms using different kit and a different style of working everywhere you go which only adds to your knowlage.
  2. i would not want to be taking that down and putting it in a trailer i bet theres a good few trailer loads in that if its coming to ground level. good luck with it.
  3. if you have your new body ready to go on i would offer it up and work out how much you want it to tip to find out how long the ram needs to extend then you can just get in contact with flowfit and say i need the 12v tipper unit with a ....ton single acting ram with a stroke of ....mm with all the hoses and connectors needed. really all you need to work out is how far you want it to extend.
  4. The stroke length is how far the ram extends. a double acting ram is one that is powered going out and back in, a single acting ram is powered out and not powered going back in so the weight of your tipper will push it back down when you push the button.
  5. Ordered alot from flowfit always arrived very quick with added food hampers sometimes. Cant fault customer service either always been good with getting questions answered backwards and forwards on email. Our local hydraulic shop i buy some small bits from get most of there stuff from them also.
  6. Working the new tipper body as it was ment to be used.
  7. Only bad thing my mate has to say about his is theres a groaning noise from the bottom roller which is a greaseing issue not getting through, also a crack appearing on the top of the flywheel housing has happened exactly same place on a few of them so theres a stress point there
  8. that is a issue with the club cab one, but you get the added storage in the cab for climbing gear etc which puts me off the single cab i don't think theres a prefect truck for arb that ticks all the boxes
  9. No i havent to be honest. But now you mention it that might give a better ride? What about cost do you know? As for both sides to have 7 leafs is £250
  10. had its first load in it today, it will definitely need a new set of leaf springs with a couple of extra leafs on the back end as it ended up the tow bar a few inches off the ground.
  11. sure will be mark ill be a drunken mess asleep inside the chip box so come and have a look just don't go shouting while your there
  12. BRAND NEW TIPPER BODY | eBay is where i found them.
  13. You sure its not got a 4th on the new as my last transit didnt tip as far as my first but it turned out it was because you can bolt and unbolt the bolt that touches the sensor by the ram to stop it tipping any further
  14. £2200 plus vat is leaving the truck with the old body on and 10 days later picking it up with a new tipper as you see it new body, new light board, tipping gear everything.
  15. Really pleased with the job they have done with it.
  16. Is yours a single cab? as ours is a club cab so slightly smaller buck on it maybe thats the reason for the price difference.
  17. Ill post pics monday evening of it cant wait to get it back
  18. £2200 for same as this one is what we are picking up monday, apart from its got barn doors and a lift up roof for chipping into easier very good price
  19. Ours is getting done by a company in tipton birmingham called mcb commercial bodybuilders very good price wise im picking up monday but im expecting the quality to be good you can find some of there work on ebay they have a couple of for sales on there
  20. thanks for the reply, ill just do it with him how I've been taught with the 3 man belay type, i don't think it can change that much
  21. Hi all our apprentice needs to do a spike rescue for his college portfolio, i can do a spike rescue with him how i got taught, but my question is has anyone got a up to date step by step method as i don't want to show him something wrong. i would ask the college for this info but we have a perfect tree tomorrow with plenty of time to get it done for him. cheers
  22. Always end up doing it our selfs as if we left anyone its usually either way to big or not enough gets done, we have had 2 vertical splitters we bought painfully slow so always favoured a axe, got fed up with that so built a splitter for my self from scratch how i wanted it works a treat and very quick now we have got no heap of wood to split as we keep up with what we bring in.
  23. nice work and nice vid thanks for taking the time to share
  24. Haha yes i am ive given srt a good go but always go back to drt i tried different knots with a pulley but still prefer a prussik although everything is knackered on me at the minute haha
