    Td5 problem

Common faults on TD5's are the airflow sensor as said and the ECU/Injector harness leaking oil into the ECU.If you unplug the red plug that goes into the ECU you can see if its full of oil.

Its a good job you dont get paid per cut Reg or you'd be poorer than me... Nice work mate
  5. Some people have no shame, hope you get a result Dean
  6. I fitted Airlift helpers to mine, like the airbags you see on wagons, you can adjust the pressures to suit the load or terrain, easy to fit, seconds to adjust, and only cost about £100, i can get a serious amount of chip on board plus tow the tracked chipper with no saggy bumage at all.Corners like a rollerskate when unloaded if the pressure is about 20psi. I had a little incident in it a few weeks ago whilst hunting in Wales,it disappeared over a 200ft ravine sideways, about 50deg banking and it stayed on all fours doing about 40mph sideways, it had to be seen to be believed,i reckon it was mainly due to the suspension that it didnt roll all the way down.
  7. Arborist i dont know which hunt you were in service with but it sure aint like the hunts ive had experience of.Ive done terrier work for 3 different packs and kennelhand for 1 and never come across the things you are claiming or to the extent you are claiming.I would say you have been hanging around with the wrong people.Or are blowing things up out of all proportion. Eg ear tattoing,i tattoo all my dogs including adults and most rarely even yelp let alone go into shock and die,its no more traumatic than having your ears pierced. And the KH who puts beagles down with a pitch fork? Why would he do that when its quicker, easier and more humane to use the humane killer which im sure they would have had? As for putting hounds down with gun,yes this is common practice as it is with horses, greyhounds and bull calves because they cost more to feed than they would fetch at market. And to those who think hunting with hounds isnt a valuable form of pest control have you tried lamping foxes in the Welsh mountains with the forestry blocks etc or heavily wooded areas? Sure you will shoot foxes but there will be plenty more that you never see till the hounds draw through.
  8. A company i work for have recently brought this policy in,the main reason being to check anti vibration mounts etc are in working order.I suppose to cover themselves in the event of employees making claims against them for HAVS.Be carefull where you take it though, one guy took it somewhere they had quoted around £20 plus parts, when he picked it up they had put £130 worth of parts on,this was a nearly new saw that had very little use:thumbdown:
  9. If your welding thin sheet metal and having trouble blowing thru position the work piece at about 30 degrees and stove down hill pulling rather than pushing the torch to control penetration as your arcing into the weld pool rather than directly onto metal
  10. And Tree Surgeon's come to think of it if you get a branch in the mince pie
  11. Proxymetacaine for arc eye...what welders dreams are made of
  12. Tip if your struggling to fill holes that have blown thru... Clamp a piece of copper or ceramic to the back of the plate, fill the hole, unclamp copper/ceramic and gring flush
  13. What type of work were you interested in doing Quickthorn?
  14. I was a plater/welder/pipefitter for 10yrs before i got into Arb(due to bad careers advice at school reg forestry/arb work:thumbdown:) I did a 5yr apprenticeship and 3yrs at college but as with most things in life most of what you really need is learnt on the job.Your C+G or NVQ type quals are a good entry level qual but as said the good money comes from being coded at certain levels.Best to start off with MIG/MAG and MMA then progress to TIG when you have a good level of skill with the others in all positions. You will be able to do your codings at training colleges starting with bs4872 and work your way up to asme1X 6G.To be honest money not great varying from min wage for basic mig to around £10-£12 for more skilled work unless you get on oil rig work. Its hot(except in winter when its colder than climbing wet trees),smelly, usually in dark dingy factories, using grinders, breathing in fumes and dust all day...other than that its great:lol:
  15. A new guy has just started up in my area and is advertising to beat any genuine quote:001_rolleyes: So other firms are going to the trouble of pricing jobs up,a fair price for a fair days work and this guy i just knocking a bit off and getting the jobs without putting in the time and effort:thumbdown: Im tempted to put in £50 on a job worth ££££'s and then pass on his details
  16. Northern arb supplies in Sheffield, only recently opened, good little set up tho,i think its the people at saturn machine knives?? The workshop is down stairs and arb shop upstairs

  19. I googled them yesterday after posting on my website optimisation thread and saw all the scam complaints.Im new to all this website stuff and it sounded like a good deal(dont they always:sneaky2:)Looks like i got off lightly
  20. Fair comment but you get your money back for that month if it does'nt show in the top 3.Some sites are always at the top so there must be some way of maintaining it and although like you say it cant be guaranteed they must be confident of a high presence
  21. Thanks for the replies guys n gals much appreciated:thumbup1: Ive gone with Keyworld Media to design and host a new website and they guarantee it'll be in the top 3 on first page(although they not doing much so far) Dan,my location is only a small market town with not a massive amount of work available and although i rank well there i rank poorly in surrounding towns.I will add more detail to the homepage and see if that helps. Thanks again peeps:thumbup:
  22. Nice bit of kit SB,well thought out.
  23. Yes i was stood next to that on the other side from where that was filmed and it was awsome, the vid does'nt do it justice.I have'nt tried telling anyone about the goings on in Arcadia,Block 9 and Shangri La cos how the hell do you explain it?? Its like being in a Mad Max world.
