  1. Hi mate thanks for the reply, i think i have the instructions that you're talking about but it does'nt show the route that the shafts take, that's what i cant get my head around, which ever position i try just does'nt seem right, the shafts are too close to something. The chip box lid has wings that fit into rails on each side when in use, when not in use lid drops down and wings are clipped up onto lid out of the way. And im not fly tipping its being tipped there by request there is a track at the bottom of the banking that the chip is being tipped onto, maybe i should remove that pic as your not the first to mention it but i thought it showed the usefulness of a landy over a transit or suchlike.
  2. Has anyone had the pleasure of fitting said winch? Ive got the PTO and winch fitted no problem but the shafts are giving me a head ache. Can i pick anyone's brain??

  7. Ive no doubt you are very competent Al, the fact that you asked the question shows that you know your what you're doing without knowing all the ins and outs of power lines. Just would'nt want a flippant remark causing you or anyone else grief with electricity. There are legal aspects that could cause you grief as well as the obvious risk from shock.
  8. Im guessing the guy who asked the question does'nt have any UA tickets or he would'nt have been asking. In which case he's not authorised to do the work. Im sure the guy is a competent tree feller/climber but i would'nt advise anyone to carry out such tasks especially someone i did'nt know as they might have very little experience of any tree work.

Maybe your safety zone is too small so slight changes in the movement of the satellites are being registered. How often is it set to report location?I have mine set to report every half hr but it will only report when it moves out of safety zone.I have safety zone set at about 1 mile so its not constantly tracking short journeys around the village. You have to log in seperately for each device on your control panel so it will only show 1 at a time not both together. Any probs give me a ring 07731785564, Wayne.

Hi mate,i have 2 fitted. Are you having problems with it?
  13. Ive used this technique a few times, just have to make sure the bite is on the correct side to stop you sliding round(if you were leaning to your right you would wrap the sling clockwise with the bite to the left of the stem). Sometimes you can put a sling at foot level too to stand in with one foot(put a notch to stop it sliding down). Very rare you will ever need to use techniques like this but may help you out one day. Main thing is to make sure you are happy with your work positioning before you make your cut.If you're not dont do it cos thats how accidents happen.

    FS 130 Seized??

Ok ive had a look at it has dropped a valve, the retaining clip on the top of the spring had broke in 2. Is this likely to have caused further damage? Do i just need to replace the clip? Is it an easy enough job or should i take it for repair and if so is it an expensive job? Thanks for your help.
  15. I'll get some more info about it and ask the mechanic what he reckons its worth, pics might be a bit more difficult but if anyone is really interested i might be able to get owner to email some pics.It was an old model not sure of the year but not much as changed on them as you know
  16. I know someone who is selling a completely rebuilt landy on a galv chassis, it has a 3.something litre engine out of a mazda or isuzu or something like that, tipper etc. The info ive given there is about as much use as tits on a fish but i know the mechanic who rebuilt it if you want to know any more about it.Said he was looking for 4kish but negotiable.
  17. If you prefer the 300 there's one here looks tidy, can fit tipper from around £1500-2000 so will cost around the same as the td5. I have a td5 '99 model and had very little trouble with it, best truck i ever had 1998 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 300 Tdi Hi Cap | eBay

    FS 130 Seized??

Yes the oil was mixed/measured properly, i always take care with that. Although i bought it off a mate as he did'nt have much use for it and i needed one for a big job last yr so i dont know how careful he was with it but was almost new when i got it.

    FS 130 Seized??

Not under warranty now although it has'nt had much use. Yes it is the 4 mix.
  20. Hi guys, any one have any ideas? I was using it yesterday clearing brambles, after about half hour its suddenly cut out dead from full revs.Pull cord was solid then after a bit it came free, pulled a few times but with little compression then seized solid again. Im thinking maybe piston rings? The mix was correct using stihl oil and machine has had very little use.

  23. Like i said its for pest control, a lot of farmers would'nt want the hunt on unless they were controlling fox numbers and most foxes are accounted for by the terrierman not the hounds. The Burns Enquiry found that the average time for a fox being actually hunted was 4mins before it was lost or gone to ground so dont be fooled into thinking they are run to exhaustion before being dug to. In my experience the foxes that have been hunted hard are rarely dug unless they are a real problem and a lot of long hunts end out of the hunt country
  24. Only if the landowner wants it accounting for, would'nt be very effective pest control if it was left
  25. They are all fell type terriers from an old working strain, there's a small dash of border blood in there from about 25yrs ago, the 2 pups at the bottom would have about 1/16th border in them. The mother to them is the last pic
