    Hernia

You need to follow doobins example and by more machines
  2. Shouldn’t worry about growth etc so many factors can change and putting bluntly none of us will be around to see them at full maturity plant what you like within reason and enjoy it while you can the bigger you plant the more watering it will need and the small whips will catch up and over take in size very quickly in your environment plus they are easier on your pocket
  3. If you have time remove the turf 50mm deep for a metre round each tree and replace with brown card board and mulch if you can get lots of mulch spread it over the planting areas before planting then notch through I have had good results on Sandy free draining soils doing it this way
  4. Think carefully about claim the excess and increase in premiums can make it not financially sound lost a trailer last year to a fire the excess and premium increase in premium were far more than the value of the claim
  5. Your wrong it also needs a husky transformer at £3000.00
  6. Used one not bad but heavy and battery has short life last long but very quiet
  7. Have a look you might be surprised at the price of a new hatz
  8. Don’t forget your pond great for bats etc and source of drinking water use a few land drains to fill plant right up to your hedge to break up straight lines then leave management strip think about the trees around the field see if you can use them as vistaswill make the woodland seem older quicker if you borrow them
  9. I disagree plant birch, you have looked locally and got a list I would add hawthorn and sloe don’t forget the understory, woods have little wild life value if the wind can get through I would plant in groups nothing taller than a metre, wildlife likes edges and glades so maybe only cover 60 to 70 % with trees then have rides and paths between the glades plant lots then as time goes by fell and leave so you gradually thin out the planting plant at what ever centres your budget runs to thicker on edges thinner towards the middle of the groups plant mixed and single species groups and maybe single specimen make sure all your edges are wavy no straight lines build some piles of branches and logs metre high 300 MM into the ground Chuck the soil you dig out back over the top if you can get woodchip mulch the planting if you can get only some mulch and leave in piles to rot down Read village idiots thread on here about his experiences he already has a wood dig a pond but most of all enjoy doing it it will be a big learning curve!
  10. The 90 has a seventeen by nine throat why would you want to chip bigger and I think one of the most durable on the market plus no one nicks scruffy old chippers so would forget the paint job you can even get all the transfers on ebay
  11. The client was a London barrister on a hiding to nothing from start
  12. Have you done it too!
  13. If it was mine I’d spend some money on it the feed roller motors are rexroth and can be rebuilt all the bearings can be got local and the engine is not expensive a few thousand would give you a new machine at far less than a new one with none of the modern problems
  14. They covered the carpets in plastic sheet then sheets then plywood, sheeted up the walls in plywood the branches rubbing the paint and wall paper of and stained the door frames, the boards on the floor wire away in areas and let moisture onto the carpet the wallpaper was not available as was the carpet so redecorate and recarpet from memory bill was over £8000. The insurers were not happy about the claim,10 tonnes of beech through a house, should have been notified
  15. Which engine pack have you if it’s the perkins I’d keep it
  16. You are not wrong you can make very good money on through the house jobs and I have but the risks are very high and now too many people are quoting very low, my last through the house cost the company I was sub to a lot complete redecoration of the hallway plus 600 on the insurance premium for the claim and once the premium goes up it never comes down plus the agro of weather he was insured to work inside houses
  17. Not so sure about the red diesel
  18. Why would you want the hassle of carrying a dirty smelly stump grinder through a customers house let someone else do it. Those jobs are more hassle than they are worth for little reward
  19. The bandit is pretty bomb proof easy to fix and not expensive on parts with not much in the way of electrics, a large hammer, adjustable spanner and roll of duct tape fix most problems why change?
  20. Isn’t tung oil from nuts
  21. Got to admit nothing better than a large bang
  22. Dynamite !
  23. It might help your sight, I’m sure though your body will thankyou more, and the increase in productivity will keep your bank manager happy (maybe) like to see some pictures of the narrow wheels in action on grass or soil, do they cut through mud to a hard surface or sit on top. Given the weight of the machine do you get stuck
  24. Not to rub in in, but another useful loader ,your getting too many toys I like it going to have to think about one
