  1. Wood will continue to be a major source of energy. Within 18 months there will be biomass micro chp for domestic installations using zero moisture content woodfuel. Its the future for wood, and the future has almost arrived.

    Blood

Its going to be a 60 mile round trip for me as I have to go to Cambridge, but when your daughter has a condition which happened aged 2, and could re-occur at any time in her life that would require a platelet infusion, you do it. It will also apparently be a longer process than giving whole blood but what the hell, it will hopefully help or save someone.

    Blood

Not bone marrow, but have just signed up to give platelets which you can do monthly rather than every 3 -4 months.
  4. The trees looked ok until u got in the harvester seat. I drone the komatsu 931 with C144 and was surprised how poor the trees were, much akin to or worse than a lot of the scots pine down in Norfolk
  5. IT4 6 wheeler was working but not 8 wheeler while we were there on day 2 Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Was a very good show with one or two new developments. Ponsse really seem to be upping their game, not necessarily just with the Scorpion, but the power in the other heads on the machines is incredible. A big disappointment is that after all the hype about them, Deere didnt have the 8 wheeler IT4 working. Komatsu C144 head is a good new development with more stem to roller contact giving a more positive feed. Yve, do you do replacement plastic covers for the grab bars on the fuel tanks which can be fitted without gassing off one end of the grab bar and welding it back on again?
  7. Sorry to hear about your mum eggs. Thoughts are with you and your family
  8. I fitted mud n snow tyres to my fiesta 18 months ago and it goes into the woods all the time. They have done 16000 miles and will do about another 3 or 4000 before I need to replace them.
  9. is would be more of a saleable product if you chipped the whole lot rather than taking the log element out of it. The value for energy is in the wood rather than the green Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Not 100% sure but I think the only way you can burn recycled waste wood (grade 1 & 2) and comply with rhi is if it has been torrefied. Hoping this will be a possibility within 12 months.
  11. I didn't realise Bandit made a pto chipper. How big do they go up to?
  12. Wouldnt have thought so but best thing is to speak to the manufacturer.
  13. Martyn Neve 07860 859633 Has 9 harvesters so could probably find one to go and do it for you
  14. How much woodchip do each of you produce per year?
  15. It's cheaper to use oil then! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. at least 25 tonnes of dry seasoned logs per year for each boiler sold Thats one hell of a house you've got there then!!
  17. I can't say any more at the moment as I have had to sign a non disclosure contract. I have been allowed to say that but have to wait for permission to release any more information. It's great to hear those sort of comments though. I hope to see one in operation within 3 months as a demo unit and then it will have to go through accreditation etc. Watch this space :-) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Within 12 months, there will be a woodchip micro chp unit available which can produce heat and elctrical power for home use. I think I am correct in saying that it will produce up to 3.5kw electric as well as thermal energy for heating. You would be able to claim Rhi and Fit but have not been given any more info at present.
  19. Seems like your getting plenty of offers, why dont you take them up?
  20. They have been around for about 10 years fella. Mainly used on bunching heads for whole tree biomass but have more recently been introduced onto harvesting heads such as in the video. Clever stuff! Sent from my GT-I9300 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Are you saying that you didnt realise that there was such a thing as a tree harvester?
  22. Neither of which are front fed. Why dont you get that huge Beast shredder/chipper in another current thread by Global? It will take far more than 24 inch and be incredibly fast
