    to be honest i don't think there is the "perfect hitch" i started out (on my HC) with the distel and afetr a while, even after undoing and re-tying, in wet conditions it was ridiculously tight, moved on to the knut and enjoyed that for a while before i kind of invented my own michochan hybrid hitch knot thing that worked till my kit got lolered and everything was untied and i could never re-tie it the same again moved onto a VT and like that fact it was loose but gripped when needed, I use OP at the moment and again my kit has been lolered and i can;t get the VT to sit right at the mo?? proper nervy sometimes when it doesn't grip I want a lockjack sport now:blush:

    Couldn't fully hear the audio but got the gist of it. I don't think he should've got involved, he used his physical advantage on a much smaller chap, would he have done the same thing on a same sized bloke? There are ways and means to deal with joe public like this who scrounge the system for a free ride, violence isn't one of them Sent from Rob's GalaxySII

    i didn't say it was ring barked did i? Sorry:blush: what i meant was, will the bit under the retaining ring callous over and include the ring in the healing before the new shoots have a chance to push it off? Never worked on this tree so don't really know, although would it react the same as other trees in the Fabaceae family?

    Never worked on a Acacia dealbata before so don't know how well it callous' its wounds especially ones that have been "topped":001_rolleyes: would the "ring" get in the way of any callous forming or would the callous then include this ring in the healing process? Definitely not a waste of time as its this thinking outside the box that furthers progression in this industry:thumbup: Keep us informed, oh and i would've put the slope down in the other way, away from the remaining branch:biggrin:
