    Just started getting into this myself,if it's small & alive I want to snap it! Great thing is I'm learning about part of our world (slowly),that I never looked at much before,and its on the doorstep more or less. Hoverflys are getting my attention at the moment!

  7. If he has given you the nod then why not. But I would pump some of the money into your own kit,so you dont lean on his good nature too much.
  8. Sounds like he is being a right good man to work for,I would not do what you are sugesting. Try asking him,see what he thinks,that way you get a first party answer.

    How Green?

    The rafters will not pull in anything as the wood only noticably shirinks in diameter, not length. Some clever folk were about in them olden days. Quote. Rover is on the money with this. If you want to slow dry green turned wood,burry it in its shavings & leave it to dry slowly under the lathe.

    I have not seen any OPM round here,I did get a NASTY rash from a brown tailed that got under my teeshirt last year,nasty blighter Fearsome looking stag,great pose for the camera!

    Hi Janey,There is the nymphs skin on one of the lilly pads where the hatching took place,about 20 or25mm long,I will try & grab a pic tommorow.
