    No fears there lads,Im so old I dont realy get anywhere,let alone where I shouldn't be; That deals with; My prommised feedback on slack ma girdles sugestion. Felix the whoppers' alegations apertaining to myself. Your concerns about residual rot from unhealthy exposures. nice outcome!

  4. Spoilsport! The beech & ash will serve you nicely.
  5. Chestnuts are not worth the effort,elm is but can be hard to split,as can eucalyptus if you dont split it soon after cutting it up,theres a start,but most of it will burn ok if well seasoned,if you get any ash,dont bother with it..just let me know & I will come and relieve you of it!
  6. Agreed,it has spead me up no end moving about in the tree,not that I'm quick at the best of times though...
  7. Looks like an old cement filled cavity,we had one to cut up a while back,a dead elm trunk had falen into a pond,what fun,ended up cutting slots & banging in wedges to break it up to release the concrete.
  8. Thats extreme swimming,but I bet it was realy invigorating being in the water with smow blowing in like that. Your a propper nutter for doing it though!

  10. I dont think we can realisticaly form conclusions until it has been established why the limb dropped,so why dont we bite our colective tongues,quit throwing the mud about and watch how it pans out? Then there is something tangiable to work with,on what is at the moment an emotive subject.

  12. I love it on high climbs,and it's awsome for long descents,I would buy another if you could clip them on midline.

No adays it is a case of if you havn't got someone actually right there the whole time you are a target,they can here us working for half a mile or so,for most of the day,like flies to a jam pot. They know we are tired & bussy,they dont get punished much if they get caught,they are desperate mostly,so we are vulnerable.
