  1. I did say £100,maybe less,I wont price anything firm on a photo. regarding the forum,no ones quoting,we are discussing what it might cost, and how we might give the customer good value,in my case by doing it on the way home. I dont have to justify my costs to anyone but myself if I were to price a job,and if I can earn a bit more by hitting a second job on the way home whats wrong with that,I bought my kit to work it, not clock off a 5 every day. Some days you do well, some not so,if the price I loosly sugested is fair, then the circumstances dont come into it. So as to negate the sneaky bit,and be fair to the consumer,(as I always am),I would do it before the main days work, that way I havnt 'already earned mymoney that day', is that any better!
  2. I bet hes having a great time in there.
  3. I did notice them,I was going to spread a pot of shiphams crab pread on the limb before I dropped it,saves on the chipping, then barbie the piranas for dinner. Its a plan..
  4. I should be so lucky! Yeh maybe cheap on little ones like this, but its an easy peasy on the way home sort of job that can realy make your money up. Look at it like this for a minute, say I get done early from the deays work(or not),stop in there on the way home,I use another climber with me most days,he gets £100 to £120 subbing to me for a whole days work,so we bash this out at the end of the day in an hour, that one hour has paid for his whole days climbing give or take. THat makes good financial sense to me.
  5. If you get stuck,pm me & I will sort you out.
  6. No mate,I would do that one on my own,2 hours max,and call it an after work added bonus! If I earn my daily rate, then get this on the way home Ive had a right result in my opinion, wouldnt you do it?????
  7. I would have thought £150 tops,if it was round here I would do that for £100,maybe a bit less. Where in suffolk?
  8. When you getin from work, flop on the couch, open the laptop,& the bl##by dog lays his head across the keyboard. When you get up a six in the morning log on,and at eight oclock your groundy walks through the door to find you naked on the couch with the computer on your lap.
  9. I wouldn't muck about with the lady, get the job done, invoice to the husband, and if he falters tell him you are going to small claims, the job is too big to take a knock / get messed about. I feel for you, we all get it from time to time.
  10. As mesterh says, its not a hard job, turning the pump backwards generaly pushes the gunk out.
  11. If you get propper stuck for a topping saw I can lend you a 200t,pm us if you need it.
  12. If I see the oportunity to assist others I will jump at it,Done a few big & small, its one of the best uplifting feelings you can get seeing a strangers turmoil eased, even if just because you showed a bit of heart.

  18. Spoilsport! The beech & ash will serve you nicely.
  19. Chestnuts are not worth the effort, elm is but can be hard to split,as can eucalyptus if you dont split it soon after cutting it up,theres a start, but most of it will burn ok if well seasoned,if you get any ash, dont bother with it..just let me know & I will come and relieve you of it!
  20. Agreed,it has spead me up no end moving about in the tree, not that I'm quick at the best of times though...

  22. Looks like an old cement filled cavity,we had one to cut up a while back,a dead elm trunk had falen into a pond, what fun, ended up cutting slots & banging in wedges to break it up to release the concrete.
  23. Thats extreme swimming, but I bet it was realy invigorating being in the water with smow blowing in like that. Your a propper nutter for doing it though!
  24. Yeh,I like that,more please!
  25. I dont think we can realisticaly form conclusions until it has been established why the limb dropped,so why dont we bite our colective tongues, quit throwing the mud about and watch how it pans out? Then there is something tangiable to work with,on what is at the moment an emotive subject.
