  2. Channel 5 'how do they do it', on now (7.30 pm),after the plane bit they examine the engineering behind a modern chainsaw, might be a crock of,but you might want to while away half an hour.

2 stroke mx bikes tend to be all top end power, designed to accelerate hard at the higher rev range, which can make them a handfull, honda made a cracking bike for off road, the xr100,found a few on fleebay to look at,and they are on utube to see what they sound like, its a four stroke engine, reasonably quiet & lots of fun. Honda XR100 kids MOTOCROSS | eBay Honda XR100 2003 off road bike | eBay Gives you something to think about,& they hold their money well enough.

    Honda CRF100

I would get along to an off road bike dealer,or a motocross practice track & have a chat, the full on motocross bikes are by nature a race machine, and imo a bit full on to let your boy start on,more so if blatting about round a farm. Back when my nephew wanted to learn I got him a honda xr100 four stroke & he loved it,it was bombproof, fun & relatively safe without being too noisy. I dont know what is available nowadays, but would have thought a two stroke mx bike a bit too zippy to start out on.
  10. Why is that then,it gives no specific reason, and I agree with you mate they should not be dished out willy nilly, but a trained person in a team whou can recognise ana shock in our context..man get stung, man gets a rash, shortness of breath,tight/pain in chest/puffy lips/face,pins & needles etc. The epipen is designed to be used by non medical people, side effects apear minimal. So I challenge why,no wishy washy, but why not in a medical context let the main person in charge have one in his armoury to assist in emergency,it may be their is a very good reason so lets hear it(other than your not allowed).
  11. Good post Rob,I googled to no avail, but it does seem you need to make sure you dont wap it in a vein, hence they sugest the top of the thigh between knee & hip,you need to hold it in for ten seconds too. I can only imagine it would release the adrenilin int the system too fast if you hit a vein. There are a lot of things 'you cant do' in this country, some with good reason others, well, debatable. In my opinion if someone knows the ins & outs of what they are doing in an emergency, then just do it & sod the air suckers who want to stand back from a situation.
  12. I'm not qualified as a medic,& I'm not familiar with what a first aider can/cant do legaly. If someone other than a first aider got their hands on it,like any medication,it could be misused,an epipen administers adrenolin. If someone is in real trouble,I for one with no oficial training would help out to the best of my abilities, better that than lose a life, I have saved one life doing just that, and had a mate die whilst trying to keep him going,(I had no chance as it turned out). I take the point that wrongly administered help/medication can have an adverse effect.
  13. I suffered anafalactic shock (however you spell it),a year ago after being attacked by the euro wasp while climbing. First time for me & I have been stung before by normal wasps. I got an epi pen after consulting my GP,they were reluctant to let me have one,but on explaining what I did they relented. I cant see why there should not be one in the first aid kit, provided correct training given to the first aider, but I'm no medic so its just my thoughts on the subject. It could prove a life saver, and is easy to apply, just bang it into a large muscle group.
  14. Good heads up.
  15. I Realised that after posting,But I will have it thanks Mark, when I come to get it I will look at the others if thats ok. Thanks!
  16. Nice work mate, what are the first two 'side veiw' spoons made from, oh & do you want to sell them? If so put me down for them please! Not bad pics ....for a pro!!!
  17. The bead around the base sets it off nicely.
  18. Thank you Rob,that saves me a few quid, makes sense to have the 13'' bar on the 339xp,& the 15'' on the 346xp.
  19. Cool bannanas!
  20. I am a mutton head with these things,I have a 339xp with 15 inch bar & .325 chain. Now I'm buying a 346xp,with 13'' bar with .325 chain. can I swap the bars/chains over on these saws,if I can it would make me a happy chappy.
  21. I bet when you take it off you will find it's foobared!
  22. Stunning figure there in that wood, what a joy to see it!
  23. Yep,true about the bushes, that steering uj can be a nightmare sometimes to diagnose,I would replace it & see if it helps, they are an easy fit,& dont cost much. Slap some copper ease grease on the splines when fitting one after cleaning the splines with a stiff brush, going up & down the splines to realy make sure you are metal to metal.
  24. You have checked or replaced the uj on the steering collum linkage, about half way between the bulkhead & the steering box,the joint there can be loose on the splines or defective in itself, and not show signs of such, always worth a look, had a similar problem on two landy's & that was it did not show as defective until I replaced ,and they are an easy fit, cheap too. So if you are chasing this fault to no avail its worth fitting a new one as part of the elimination process. Sent from my laptop after a skinfull.
  25. He turned his toes up at 98, just before my voice broke,I'm 51 now!
