  1. What a priveledge to get to work in such an interesting place and for someone with a pssion for trees. Ya lucky so and so! I'll definately take you up on that offer for a tour 'round there if you decide to do it
  2. That's a fabulous catalogue pose in piccy #2 MonkeyD: international arboriculturalistic super model! LoL That's an interesting set of photos from you tree career over the years. I wish I had more like that (my tree work, NOT my posing )
  3. I think I have just reading your description of it. I'm pretty good when it comes to remembering subjects that I find interesting, but I struggle to remember all the minutae of legislation, etc. You know, the kinda important stuff
  4. I think if you're ever in a financial position to have one of them, your days of having to work for a living will be well behind you!
  5. With all this reading and research you're doing Ham, do you have any problems retaining the information?
  6. Hare and the tortoise my dear. MINE'S got all the schedules listed in easy to see format. Nah
  7. Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (different link to P's)
  8. I read this earlier. I don't think it's something that I'll be trying any time soon. Mad bloke French 'spiderman' scales Dubai's Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower | Mail Online
  9. That's odd, that's the only current provider that I have seen that doesn't say anything about NPTC units to get the full certificate. Everywhere else (that I 've seen recently) lists this course as RFS Cert (Theory) and that you need a mystery amount of the practical tickets to get the full cert'. And noone seems to say what those "requisite amount" of NPTCs are!
  10. Glad it wasn't any more serious and that it doesn't sound as if you done any permanent damage to yourself. Ya silly bugger! I grew up with two older brothers and learnt by proxy about the "fun" of playing with fires and petrol.
  11. So when we get pulled by the police and are politely invited to sit in their car while our details are taken is not against H&S regs but this scenario is? Right, I'm confused . A bit like that poor couple, I should think.
  12. Has anyone else started checking their pocket shrapnel for date-less 20p pieces since they read this post ? I remember when it was originally in the news but I had forgotten about it until now.

    bedfords rock!

Ooh, now that's a proper marque That's really nice. I've always had a hankering after an RL and going back to doing a bit of travelling again. I suppose a driving lisense might be handy at some point...
  14. And if they do come in girly sizes, that will be a lot of 2011 Chrissy pressies taken care of
  15. That looks really good and set in a beautiful location. I think I'll try and get to that this year I found a link to Haughly Park, I hope you don't mind me adding it here: Haughley Park Barn | Wedding Venue in Suffolk And if you do mind - tough! I've done it now
  16. Cheeky! (still wouldn't be legal though )
  17. Possibly... If they've fallen from the regrowth above I was assuming there was some regrowth from the coppice stools and that we weren't trying to ID stumps
  18. Ooo, shiny new stuff. You're going to have to get yourself another apprentice for kit cleaning duty to make sure it stays that way. Is the tape textile or nylon (or similar)?
  19. Be very, very nice to the boss and hopefully I'll see you there
  20. Are any other AT'ers going to this? A big "thank you" to Keith et al At Barcham Trees for their on going support of education in the arb' industry. Their series of free seminars (and damn fine lunch spreads! LoL) have been extremely informative and well worth attending if you have the opportunity . 19th April 2011[1].pdf
  21. At this time of year, alder species will have catkins.
  22. That's a very good link, thank you. I'm amazed and a little embarrassed about how much of that I've forgotten since I done my ticket(s)
  23. You do realise that you've spoilt the lad for ever, don't you? After his time with you, working for any 'normal' contractor is going to be such a comedown (Nice Verbena bonariensis, btw)
