  1. That's the downside of having a tat' in that location: I can't really show it clearly without looking like a stripper
  2. Lala maybe, but not LA Right now I'm doing a bit of bar wenching to give me a bit of pocket money and the occasional tree inspection / 5837 survey to remind me what those big woody things with leaves are. I'm waiting to hear in the next few days whether I will be doing some of the buffer zone OPM surveying for the FC. Failing that, I'll be doing some voluntary OPM surveying for one of my old LA employers as I'm an idiot and enjoy it
  3. No offence taken . Well, not by me, anyway It's clear that you're just messing and having a bit of banter with us and I'm not going to get all huffy and feminist on you
  4. You are, of course, talking about his fading eagles aren't you? Otherwise, you might make me blush
  5. It was designed and tattooed by a NZ bloke called Adam Craft at Evil From The Needle in Camden. The studio is still there and very popular, but I don't know where Adam is now.
  6. Hear hear I'm not sure if I could go back to LA work now. I've been free range for too long now to be able to settle back into the rigid, and often seemingly pointless, beaurocracy that is Local Government.
  7. Ok, they may not be so great when they are attacking you en mass. Must've been your fault in some way though! LoL x
  8. Wasps are brilliant little hunters and do a great job at keeping the numbers of insect "pest" species in check. I hate it when I see people getting hysterical and being all dramatic when wasps are around as they are generally non agressive towards humans unless they are threatened. The only time that I can remember being stung by one was when it flew down my top and got trapped. Ouch!
  9. Because TPOs and S211 notifications come under the Town and Country Planning Act regs, you sometimes find that they are administered by the Planning section of the LA and not the Tree section. Most LAs will have at least one Planner who is trained and qualified in arb'. You may have been unlucky and had a work spec' written by a Planner with little tree experience. Or there may by justifyable reasons for their decisions. Or they may just have been having a blonde day Without some sort of correspondence with them you may never know

    My project....

How and with what are you going to kit out the interior?
  11. I love that weeping ash. They always seem to have the most bizzarre growth habits
  12. I know . I had it done in 2001 and that's about the only pic I have. It seems other people get to appreciate it far more than I do I think I would be prepared to sell one of my younger relatives to get some work done by Remy in Italy!
  13. Have you tried getting past the nitemare that is the usual for most LAs switchboerd system and spoken to the TO that you mention? If they are reasonable, they will take the time to explain their decisions and to take you concerns on board. And maybe even ammend their work spec'.
  14. Slightly more local to me, but not by much, is Custom Tattoos Kidderminster : True Love Tattoos. I've seen some of her work in the flesh, so to speak, and she's very, very good.
  15. Yeah, international biker chick super model me Thanks It just goes to show that not all women in arb' are, quote, yetis. (see some previous threads:001_rolleyes: )
  16. I think that's one of the great things about tat's: they tell a story of who you where and what influenced you an made you the person that you are now. I know a few people who no longer like their tattoos, for various reasons, but they would never alter them because, as you say, they are so used to them and they are part of who they are
  17. Ooh, what's the title ? If I haven't already got it, I would be very interested in having a read of it.
  18. I like "art" in general and working on skin is no different from any other medium, imo. There are so many different styles, designs and standards of work, that I bet there would be some that you like, even on women If you hate yours so much, why don't you get it covered or removed? Was it a late night after a few beers, seemed like a good idea at the time jobby? And T, do you often think of me in rubber undies???
  19. I used to be really into working with glass and I got interested in the designs by Rene Lalique. The design of my tat' is taken from this piece of jewellery by him:
  20. I wish my single lonely tat' was anywhere near that good. It wasn't my intention to start a "look at my ink" thread, but here ya go:
  21. Rather than hang out with you tree types at either Capel or East Anglia yesterday, I went to the Tattoo Expo in Portsmouth. Yeah, I know how to live it up... Most of the exhibitors were fairly average, other than Home. Here's a couple of pics of their work, for those of you into your ink. Theyr'e astoundingly good . It's just a shame they're based in Italy!
