  1. Infinity is high mileage for landrovers. If you have had it that long you will have been replacing wearin parts all along. I would say that you might well be on borrowed time for the main gearbox, but these are cheap parts to buy and fit, so unless you are starting to get engine problems, or looking at extensive chassis repair, then IMO its a case of 'better the devil you know'.
  2. Main dealer maybe, but they are a rip off basically. There are many more independent land rover garages that are equally skilled but a fraction of the cost.
  3. Ditch your garage not the landy. That is near triple what it should cost!!!!
  4. No it doesnt, and i prefer the smell of used chip fat to the stench of aspen lol.
  5. Dont even THINK about trying to flog me any Dave!
  6. Ah- I stand corrected. TBH as i was typing my mind was going back to the original article in one of the geek magazines from years back, which was explaining about it.......IIRC they may have mentioned that a select few were to be sold on..
  7. Shame really- it was an awesome truck in showroom condition with a few nice toys too. Try and get an SE or HSE if you can- they are nicer overall.
  8. The TRUE g4 vehicles were never sold after the event. There were a load made that looked like them and were fitted with heaps of toys, as mentioned above, but underneath were just the same as standard production models.
  9. They're brilliant little saws.
  10. Shame, the one they mention that uses chainsaw chain was an awesome attachment- my mate brought one back from italy a few years ago. It was phenomenal!
  11. Bad luck dave. I have only ever used two snap on products, one was a spanner, fine, the other was one of those adjustable pliers (plumbers wrench?) things. I squeezed it and snapped the handle....
  12. I'm blown away mate! Incredibly good.
  13. We broke a bit of a mog today. Part of the PTO shaft. And the clutch on a 242xp. We broke some trees too.........
  14. Thats brilliant!!
  15. As above. I use bits of old bicycle innertube too.
  16. Very nice rig you have there!
  17. This one: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvAI7-Qa2Io&feature=related]V8 Chainsaw 6 - YouTube[/ame]
  18. "...and it does give you the chance for the odd gay camera shot...":lol:
  19. Jap larch will last years and years untreated as posts.
  20. Yeah no worries. Just to add that the mauls can be used as a hammer.
  21. Hokey-pokey!
  22. Thats incredibly lucky!!! I'm kinda speechless. That must have been terrifying for all involved!
  23. Ironjack, in no way was i meaning to be snide , belittling or anything else. In the grand scheme of things an 024 is a small saw. a fantastic little saw at that though. Personaly i have a husky 242xp in that size and love it to bits. However I was genuinely interested to hear your views about my question, as i find that felling dogs got in the way for me when snedding, hence my use of the 'confused' smiley. I found that a 60cc saw was the smallest saw i could be bothered with on snedding, with a 16" bar, in order to be able to sned at the speed i desired, and that the spikes were a PITA, esp when using the top side of the bar.
  24. One certainly gets that impression.
  25. The tipping gear from the landrover......it has 10 + years of grease and grime in it and has (very suddenly bizarrely enough) lost all it tipping power. Well actually its not on my bench anymore, its on a rotating electrics guy's bench for £40 for a pro clean.
