  1. The 361 is no longer available, and has been replaced with the 362. Although a good saw not as keen as the 361 IMO. Husky offer the 357 i believe which is a good tool, and have just brought out the 560xp, about which there is a current thread running on here describing peoples experiences so far. I run a 16" and sometimes an 18" on my 362. TBH i dont think it would handle a 20" as well as the 361 did!!
  2. Well this is partly what made me think about it. Until recently ALL 130s were just stretched 110s. I have mates who cut and reweld land rovers for off roading and what have you with no ill effects, and TBH if all i have to do is that, extend the fuel lines and loom and get a new prop then happy days.

    Unimog

+2 I came very close to buying a mog a couple of years back, but TBH having looked at a few, and worked with 2, i CANNOT see the point. They are cumbersome overpriced expensive not-quite-a-tractor-not-quite-a-lorry glorified chipboxes IMO. Unimog owners will swear by them, but for me I will stick to a defender and tow behind. But then I do have easy access to tractors with big trailers and forwarding equipment with operator for next to nothing, which maybe if i didnt, I would have thought more about a mog.
  4. Has anybody done this to their Landrovers? I have a 110 with an excellent chassis, too good to scrap, and only worth a few hundred second hand, but i want a box behind the cab, or possibly make it into a king cab?
  5. One of these makes the job infinitely faster too......land rover propshaft tool | eBay

    A taste of BC

Good stuff Reg. Love the editing at the end where the music fades out to just leave the sound of that last stem slowly creaking to the fall and bang.
  7. £2.5k is rude i reckon. OKay you dont get as much as from private when you sell to a dealer, but even so that seems a bit poor!!!
  8. Infinity is high mileage for landrovers. If you have had it that long you will have been replacing wearin parts all along. I would say that you might well be on borrowed time for the main gearbox, but these are cheap parts to buy and fit, so unless you are starting to get engine problems, or looking at extensive chassis repair, then IMO its a case of 'better the devil you know'.
  9. Main dealer maybe, but they are a rip off basically. There are many more independent land rover garages that are equally skilled but a fraction of the cost.
  10. Ditch your garage not the landy. That is near triple what it should cost!!!!
  11. No it doesnt, and i prefer the smell of used chip fat to the stench of aspen lol.
  12. Dont even THINK about trying to flog me any Dave!
  13. Ah- I stand corrected. TBH as i was typing my mind was going back to the original article in one of the geek magazines from years back, which was explaining about it.......IIRC they may have mentioned that a select few were to be sold on..
  14. Shame really- it was an awesome truck in showroom condition with a few nice toys too. Try and get an SE or HSE if you can- they are nicer overall.
  15. The TRUE g4 vehicles were never sold after the event. There were a load made that looked like them and were fitted with heaps of toys, as mentioned above, but underneath were just the same as standard production models.
  16. They're brilliant little saws.
  17. Shame, the one they mention that uses chainsaw chain was an awesome attachment- my mate brought one back from italy a few years ago. It was phenomenal!
  18. Bad luck dave. I have only ever used two snap on products, one was a spanner, fine, the other was one of those adjustable pliers (plumbers wrench?) things. I squeezed it and snapped the handle....
  19. We broke a bit of a mog today. Part of the PTO shaft. And the clutch on a 242xp. We broke some trees too.........
  20. As above. I use bits of old bicycle innertube too.
