  1. BUt the stihl HD system is great, and I CANNOT notice any difference, and i first used one in '99 and the saw is still going strong:confused1:
  2. I have always used the HD system on my 88 when milling. It was supplied when i bought the set up, and iwas led to believe it was standard fare! It is similar to that which they fit to the cut-off saws (ts450s etc for construction site work etc), with no discernable loss of power.
  3. Top stuff Ady! Congrats to you both!
  4. Hows that working steve- does that jack raise the four way on an outer sleeve?
  5. I already gave that top marks mate- you cant have it scored twice- you're just showing off now:lol:
  6. Exactly!! How many of you just keep cutting after forming the hinge, and cut right through the holding timber in one go?
  7. I wouldnt worry- it takes a fair bit of time for wood to soak up rainwater- most will run off anyway.
  8. Talking of badly felled, I have just looked at your website (which is how i know about your spelling mistakes on it) and there is a picture of your mate craig using a saw with the powerhead above shoulder height:thumbdown: There is another picture where the backcut is way too high compared to the sink. There is another picture with you (or someone) sitting on top of a stump/ trunk, with the caption 'lopping and topping' above it. You have the audacity to come on to this site with your 7th post and insult a load of people when you advocate topping trees???????????????????????? Whats more, you are wearing spikes too, suggesting you have spiked a tree that you have then left standing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I suggest you rethink your attitude my friend, as it is seriously lacking at the moment.
  9. Man seriously, instead of coming on here and making abusive, diminutive comments, why dont you go back to school and learn to spell. You could do with a spell checker on your homepage too by the way. I have done the work you do, and to be quite honest, compared to building stone walls, its a piece of pish. So i suggest you get your head out of your backside and try again.

  11. Minimum £35/ cubic foot green.
  12. I had today off Ian. Thats enough. Yeah, the 620 has gone to a happy home. Miss it already. Mesterh- I have spent today investigating, and am pretty sure it is the box. The solenoid deffo works, there is a voltage off the alternator, thoug i havent put a hertz meter on it, and yes, the wiring was well shot, so i replaced most of it. I will get a hertz meter on it before i buy a new box though.
  13. A cosworth escort Bri???????? You should move to essex mate lol!
  14. Cheers Ian. It was a marathon....left wadebridge (35 miles up the road) at 6 am, and got back home at 12.20 am this morning.......in the landy!!!!!!
  15. 6.3l 545bhp amg merc estate.
  16. An instructor down here has a party trick of cutting old ballistics layed over a log, just to prove that they dont work if, as Huck says, you have your finger on the throttle.

Good luck. There is a devon based chainsaw supplier who used to regularly do this sort of thing. He doesnt anymore...
  18. Ew- thought it was truro...slight error there ahem! I do have a mobille bandsaw. It will cut up to about 17', and about 34" diameter, although some timbers such as ash are not really do-able in that diameter, as its a narrow bandblade mill.
  19. Mate you are a star. TCD- thanks for that PDF link- i have now established that i need an ESSE 1 unit. I just need to find a supplier, unless Andy's is a goodun!!
  20. Cheers guys. I have spoken to a few suppliers, and a few have mentioned a new part that is different but will work, for around 3-4 hundred. If i could get the original it should be between 150 and 200. Cheers for the link TCD. I knew about the no stress.

The current business has a good reputation, recognised local branding, is fully equipped with access to larger machinery and backup for specific jobs. Full public and employer’s insurance in place and vehicle included. Terms to be negotiated on a profit share basis with the applicant being offered considerable responsibility and support. Applicants to have at least 5 year’s experience, good personnel and customer skills and organisational motivation. Applicants to have full DL (min 5 years), NPTC cs 30,31,38,39 and chipper.
