  1. VERY nice truck mate!
  2. I am witing for my 110 defender chassis to give up the ghost, and then i will transfer everything to a 130 galvy chassis and fit a tool box with roller doors behind the cab in front of the chip box, a bit like the first one on this page:Quality Used Land Rovers, land rover 110 models
  3. LOL- my missus asked that......almost at the very moment you were typing Dave!
  4. I thought that millions of years and millions of tonnes of fossilised forest were required?
  5. Volume of a cylinder divided by 1.2 isnt really nearly accurate enough TBH.
  6. Octagonal yurt?
  7. It was invented in the 18th century by Hoppus. It allows the seller and the buyer to both take a bit of a hit on the price. If you imagine looking at the end of the log, and drawing an imaginary square over it, the corners of the square would be outside the circle, and the four sides would be inside the circle. the measurement is the mid quarter girth squared, multiplied by the length of the log in feet, divided by 144. Therefore you measure the girth of the log halfway down its length, divide by four, square that figure, multiply by the logs length (in feet) and divide by 144. Therefore if your log is 2'6" diameter at the mid point, and 7' long, there would be just shy of 27 cubic foot in it. If you deliver it and its of high quality, you may get 5 or 6 quid a foot
  8. Very good points about tooth length there Rob. As you say, this is essential. I did find that for some softwoods the rakers could be left higher than normal which gave less grabbing.
  9. 10 degrees instead of the normal 25 or 30. 90 degrees to bar. Not come across anything else in 13 years.
  10. That 620 has a hydraulic valve under the feed hopper. If you want to fit a safety bar then swap it for a spool valve and rig that up to a bar. Ensure that the system requires two hands to release it to get the roller turning again in order to be HSE compliant. Its not a difficult job TBH. I used to have one- fantastic machine (but then I did put a huge diesel engine on it lol)
  11. Tirfor are the best.
  12. "Any questions feel few to ask"......????
  13. Awesome!!
  14. Ye4ah boomeco wil take it, but really they want it loaded off concrete, 28 tonne at a time, and no twigs etc (you know the last few shovelfulls that dont get put through the chipper) but you can scrape this off before you tip onto your chip pile. They will take it if you dont have a concrete based storage area, but may want to come and see it first.they will pay more than £5/ ton if you push them a little...
  15. FAB mate!! 4 cuts!! Thats the way!
  16. Oops. One for profi magazine methinks!
  17. Terrible news. Very sad indeed.
  18. NO Dave- its the most likely outcome:thumbup1:
  19. It will survive pretty much anything....but if you cut that much off it then you will end up with a horrendous mess in the future.
  20. Dead cherry.
  21. BTW are you getting a bitch or a dog......coz if you get a terrier bitch your labs life will be over.....they are little buggers that HAVE to be in charge!!
  22. LOL- bang on Sniffy!
