  1. They are on bonus incentives to sell you more and more crap. Every time I speak to them they try to offer me either a loan, a credit card or insurance.........and every time I ask them if they would accept this sort of behaviour from a venomous snake? That usually ends the conversation pretty sharpish.
  2. Gone with NFU in the end. Thanks for all the tips.
  3. Spoke to these guys earlier. They are trying to wind down their subcontracting to almost nil, and are wanting more direct employees.
  4. TCD- speak to tyrone snell trailers. That chap I was talking about with the 130 on a galv chassis has them on that vehicle, and on all his trailers. Got them from Tyrone snell, and they are excellent.
  5. CAnt wait for that one. I read that ages ago, its a little hazy now... Fear and loathing in Las Vegas was the most amusing I reckon...I finally got round to reading Motorcycle Gangs last year. An interesting read, but just that- like most of his journalistic books (on the campaign trail etc etc)- interesting. The drug fuelled madness of Fear and Loathing in las Vegas made it stand out somewhat.
  6. LOL...read it that many times i almost know every word!! Seen it a few too. You read any other of his stuff?
  7. Heres some info on that euc. Species Information
  8. I reckon finding a new knot would be impossible, but variations on existing knots are almot certainly out there waiting to be tied.
  9. Glad to hear it....now dont do it again.
  10. Its equity red star who arent doing commercial vehicle policies anymore....they underwrote the TRust policy i had.
  11. I wish i had the chance to play with/ near that sort of kit! Whats all the timber destined for?
  12. The lumbermate is a good machine. I nearly bought one, but the company had just started dealiing with Hudson instead, so i had one of those. Very pleased with it. Just Saws: Hud-Son Saw Collection
  13. Nice work Rob, as usual! As has been said though- put stickers right at the end too, and you could also paint/ PVA etc the endgrain before milling too...it really does slow down end cracking...
  14. HAd loads of it out of Falmouth dock. YOu dealt with any of that lot Stu?
  15. That doesnt sound very good money for Biomass....I was offered 10/ tonne for tree surgery waste a year ago! Probably your best bet though.
  16. Attach a ground anchor to the underside of the winch , but TBH your clutch on the PTO of the winch will cut in before you damage your chassis. Its a landy FFS! I have been putting my H14 PTO on its knees for years with no chassis damage, doing exactly what you are doing. You'll be fine...the only pitfall is if you have a drop plate/ adjustable height towbar make sure it is on the highest setting if you are attaching it to the anchor...
  17. Dont buy it then. You could do a lot worse than speak to Timber Cutter Dartmoor off the forum. He regularly has VERY good second hand saws for sale that are in excellent condition, of various makes, ages and sizes.
  18. I reckon Jarra, or as above, purple heart. Its deffo not native.
  19. I have never used one, but at the same time, have NEVER heard a bad word about them.
  20. Just been sent this excellent fiscal advise: Sometime this year, we taxpayers will again receive another 'Economic Stimulus' payment. This is indeed a very exciting program, and I'll explain it by using a Q & A format: Q. What is an 'Economic Stimulus' payment ? A. It is money that the government will send to taxpayers. Q.. Where will the government get this money ? A. From taxpayers. Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ? A. Only a smidgen of it. Q. What is the purpose of this payment ? A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy. Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ? A. Shut up. Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.K. economy by spending your stimulus cheque wisely: * If you spend the stimulus money at Asda or Tesco, the money will go to China , Taiwan or Sri Lanka . * If you spend it on petrol, your money will go to the Arabs. * If you purchase a computer, it will go to India , Taiwan or China . * If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Israel, Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala .. * If you buy an efficient car, it will go to Japan or Korea . * If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan . * If you pay your credit cards off, or buy shares, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore. Instead, keep the money in the UK by: 1) Spending it at car boot sales, or 2) Going to night clubs, or 3) Spending it on prostitutes, or 4) Beer or whisky or 5) Tattoos. (These are the only UK businesses still operating in the U.K. ) Conclusion: Be patriotic - go to a night club with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a car boot sale and drink beer day and night. No need to thank me, I'm just glad I could be of help.
  21. He was just great. What a loss at 58 years old.. Such a varied guitarist...from Skid Row (youth gone wild was a brilliant rebel tune of its time) to blues classics such as Cold cold feeling...a veritable loss to the music industry. RiP.
