  1. I think joining FISA is a good idea, If nothing else the Safety alerts are good read.
  2. Hi this is what i run, got it from stilh. if you get parts manual online you it is on there, i also got pre filter which makes on site clening easier. the magnum handle is longer but sits a bit higher up than the standard one. Sam
  3. One thing I didn't mention, you do need to look after investment and contract clauses may be a worth while investment with solicitor. If you spend time and effort with employee you don't want the ditching you for a job in Aus when they have their tickets. Best thing I did was give a short (out of hours) crash course in what is expected in next few years. It is no good looking for a climber, paying for tickets and find they don't like heights. 4. Pay; fair enough, 6-7 days a week; good luck with that, at what point between starting and burning out do you expect to be looking for another member of staff. These are the guys that make you money,,,,, Look after them. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Have taken on apprentice, cost very little to set up. Speak to local colleges if your interested they have many apprentices looking for placements or if you have an employee that is looking for training then go for it. For me £250 for course l2 with £1500 return in 13weeks (which will be used for CS) £2.60ph for first year and 10% off other college courses. In my mind it makes perfect financial sense with the outcome that you have an employee moulded in your image. FYI if your looking for cheap labour then this isn't for you but if your looking to a guy that you can afford to pay and pay an other to train him in the hope in a few years time he will be the new model of your company then this is the way forward, treat them well, look after them, be firm but fair and your business will grow. 6. If you have part list any dealer should be able to get it for you. If you go twin muffler I would recommend bigger chain break as standard one gets restricted and will start to melt as sits on corner of exhaust. First thing you should upgrade on 660 is air filter IMO. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  11. No I have left some of the better stuff for milling. Also not all of it is cut yet will be by Sunday though.
  12. Yes we will see, will mill some of it and if its slow to sell will just have it myself and go into firewood. In an ideal world I would sell half and keep half.

  19. Get an accountant for God sake Mark. He will advise perfect balance between profit and tax credits, with tax credits it is not only based on income but working hours you will also get standard child tax credits. Also with a big chipper he will claim for it year after year as deprecation and will advise you best way to buy it to limit tax bill. Every situation is different so we can only advise from personal circumstances which may not reflect your situation, rant over. How's life treating you being a dad, has the misses found a new hobby in expensive change bags and prams yet? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Glad to see the AA is only 3 steps behind everyone else, keep it up and you'll be on the pulse in 30 years.
  21. I have one and can rate it highly, even covered in snow it worked well. Electric £ is about 1/2 what we were paying in last place. Water is never boiling but hot enough, shower always warm amd heating works well.
  22. Ha ha, I'm not known for my subtlety.
