  1. Yes and Valentino as they both hit him. I think Colin might retire now. RIP Marco A real big loss to Moto GP
  2. I am not a fan of reducing Birch. Looks good for now though
  3. IMO it depends on the system you use with it and the type of work you are generally doing.
  4. Buy a new guard and fit it yourself its not that difficult to do
  5. Now removed. Good work fella
  6. Thats easy to say but I have had a large felling saw stolen off of the back of my truck whilst picking up a kit bag only 3 feet away. They are bloody quick and have no fear
  7. Very enjoyable. Hoping for the powerpoint though. I have asked Keeley for it.
  8. Cannot recommend the Tree Life course highly enough. 3 Day wake up call!!! Good luck boys
  9. Well done mate Quitters never win and winners never quit. I know how hard you worked for that good luck at Arley
  10. Another B.S update to argue over !!! The standards are for the general public to ensure they are getting quality work. The issue you guys are talking about is quality monitoring. The problem is that clients want a cheap job and are willing to accept poor quality planting to meet their targets of numbers in the ground over the budget. As with all highway work quality is always compromised by price!!!!!
  11. Gotta love a Trumpet!! Where was the meet?
  12. Pommie

    biker meet

    A.T s meet d be good.
  13. Are there any spaces still left ? I am on Nods list of pesterers (?) I am definitely on if there space.
  14. BS 5837 is probably the most ignored document on the planet, as for the revision when that comes it ll become the new door stop in the Planning dept
  15. The mounting flange bolts can become loose (flange to motor). Lift the roller cover run the machine and if no fluid is coming out of the hoses try moving the position of the roller motors from side to side, you ll find the leak. Just one other thing on machines of that age make sure you tighten the 2 m12 bolts (flange to machine) properly or as they get loose they ll oval out the flange holes and eventually break
  16. I have been in your position, standing on the outside shouting about the negative aspects of the scheme. However I have to say over the last 15 years the AA have listened and reacted to the industries criticisms, changing albeit slowly and now are really becoming the body we have needed. As for bad practice by Approved contractors they will be found out. It is inevitable with 5 yearly assessments and 2 year partial assessments there is less time to hide. The new group of people driving the association forward are real tree people like you and me, honest and approachable with a desire to make our industry recognised for the skill and quality we deserve. The quickest way to effect change is from within. Rant over
  17. I have a few V. large brackets at the yard which came off of a Black Poplar
  18. Even with really torn bolt heads get a shovel behind the roller motor and lever against the back of the torque wrench steady pressure and the bolt will come undone. 50 pound ft for the bolts. For those of you who don t remember the origonal bolts were Allen drive and those were a PITA
  19. Nice pics guys. David do you think it likely that the cavity in the Chestnut was already there and the fungus just exploited that?
  20. The Tech cert management day was moved to Chorley last year. I believe they use a site for a few years and then move and so on.
  21. Pinto for really light work and a DMM Impact block for the big stuff
