  1. Hey Matt, the old 10mm is class 1 as its a polyester core, the new 10mm with the blue flecks is a locking brummel and the 8mm is a locking brummel with exposed eyes, people have done class1 splice with 8mm beeline but they aren't recommended due to how slippy the core is. 2. If line is just over a fork its not static as it can move, if it's alpined at the rope to cinch it to a limb only one leg is static. If both legs are tied off so both are static it's drt confusing when it comes to footlocking really. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  3. It depends as you can single line footlock, but both lines aren't static in the normal set up. I would say it's Ddrt. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  4. Pulleys wrong looks like the rope is threaded thought the Becket of the pinto. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2

  8. Im struggling in getting a nice taper on the core, im fanning it out and breaking up the strands as much as able but still seems bumpy once buried anytips?
  9. Ddrt- Doubled rope technique-standard arborist climbing technique SRT- Single rope technique- usually reffers to Srt ascent systems only SRWP- Single Rope work positioning- Access and working a trees canopy using a single static line- Systems include the Ropewrench, Unicender, Petzl RIG and The Hitchhiker. SRTWP-Single rope technique work postioning- same as above just a different phrase. DRT- Double rope technique- Climbing or access using two static lines. The french employ this technique with two prussics. Check out the threads such as; Ropewrench feedback-alot of reading but will give you links to further info etc Theres a Hitchhiker thread somewhere that Oldmill started. Check out Treebuzz, The Treehouse and Youtube for heaps of info and videos.
  10. I use what i feel will be the most effiecient way for myself to do the work whether it is Ddrt or SRT/Srwp
  11. Oh sweet Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  12. When are the stitched lanyards for the cinch going to be available from Treetools Drew? I find clipping in a small redirect where I would normally put my lanyard round helps with positioning while Srwp-ing Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2

  22. Think you need to chill out mate, I can tell your enthusiastic regarding Srwp, but it's unfair to right off Ddrt in a thread where someone is specifically asking for help regarding that technique, as Drew stated the argument has been done and is pretty boring we are all climbers so what's does it matter, right tool for the right job. No one has "slagged" you off I think Drew was pretty fair in what he said. If you wanted to bring up Srt in this thread there was better ways of doing it. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  23. Mate I didn't even mention you I agreed with Drews point regarding the srt Ddrt debate. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  24. Well said that man, the whole Ddrt vs Srt argument is boring, Add-in a Prussic on the l splice side of your line is good for rescues and the v and m rig can get you out of tight spots Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
  25. The snake anchor is an awesome tool i use it all the time, can even be used as redirects etc in tree, or handy for cabiling when you have alot of tools hanging around and need somewhere for them
