  1. rather than using the end of your file handle why not get a short piece of alcathene pipe (blue plastic water pipe) i had always used to use my file handle until i saw the bits of pipe being used on my assessor training course !
  2. haha in the time its taken Husky to get it together most of out MS200's have had one or two replacement carbs !!!!!
  3. Bob that's probably because they thought u were serious !!
  4. Have you Tried these Guys ? they are usually spot on !! Merl-Tractors
  5. Have you given these guys a try ? usually they are spot on !!!!
  6. what make and model tractor is it off of ?
  7. I Never have been able to get my head around the idea that college leavers expect to be earning the same as an experienced climber !! worse still there are the boys that get put through their 38/39 by the employer and then have the cheek to tell the boss that they are worth way more now they are able to climb and want more money !!!!!
  8. if you fancy a chuckle without causing too much trouble the simply dilute some slurry with salt water and leave them find it !! will give u a laugh in the morning when u see they have had a go and didnt like what they got
  9. white spirit or meths would do the trick , better still aviation fuel !!
  10. search on here for Tommer9 he is a long standing member and a gent to deal with
  11. i tend to want about 4-5 hours a night , if i sleep longer i feel worse than if i had not slept and end up with a head ache that fells like i drank a bottle of wild turkey to my self lol , as long as i get 23 hours kip im fine !! this is really useful in the winter months when we are regularly called out
  12. Give Tommer a shout !! he is the man for the job !!
  13. We had a 540xpt down on trial last nov/dec and after having compared it to the ms200 and 201 i decided that as soon as we can buy 4 of the 540's i will be flogging all of the stihl's !!
  14. Nice couple Landrovers you have there a, i recently bought a TD5 130 with a quadtech box on the back and after having it a few months i could now not be without it !! infact i have just agreed to buy another T reg 110
  15. we are finding that it is becoming far more common to be asked t provide cpcs evidence for hiab opperators and kit such as hook loader and role on role off lorries before we can opperate them on site
  16. Mark I used to keep it cheap and thought i was doing the right thig by the customers etc but found it to be costly in the long run , beter to work for 350-400 one day a week rather than beast you kit for two days for 400 and double the expenses !!
  17. well to start a Hook loader and Hiab on a 7.5 ton truck would limmit you to about 500-800 kg pay load , then there are the regular inspections \ cpcs , loler inspections and o licence !!!
  18. Hiya Mark i have been kept busy for the last few months with lots of work, a house to renovate and a baby on its way and will be here in February lol Hows you ? As for £200 a day for groundy chiper and kit - its ok while nothing is going wrong or needing replacing !! i wish that these guys would realise that they are mearmy undermining the value of the industry and would actually be just as busy if they charge the same as the rest and keep a good reputation !
  19. But then again A mog is meant to be used in off road conditions and is ideal for taking a decant size PTO chipper accross farmland to a work site where it can be chiped into and then taken back accros the site without the risk of a any non Drve wheels causing it to lose traction or cause undue ground disturbance ! this it something a tractor , chipper and trailer can not offer ! and seccondly it is not intended for a mog with front mount to travel at speeds of 40-40 mph , when opperating a front mount chipper our mog is always escorted on the highway and at no point will it acceed 30mph on even so much and a dual carageway !! its often the case that a machine gets a bad name beacuse of the opperators !!
  20. in cornwall it is fairly easy to get a second climber , truck and chipper and own saws for £200 a day , mind you i know of at least 3 firms that suply a truck, chipper and two men with saws climbing gear etc for £270 a day !!! not even worth getting out of bed for tbh .
  21. Im sure you will be doing exactly that john !!!!!!!
  22. TBH i think lots of people "hear and See" things abouts firms but how much of it is truth or even relevent to everyone ?? im sure that neither of these mentionedcompanies are the size they are if they were anything like the rumor mill claims they are , as for having poor kit im not that aware of any ISO/Arb Approved firms out there that provide crap kit and carry out naf work ! maybe The tree surgery industry needs a reality check on what it is and what it stands for !! then again this is only my oppinion
  23. Nice looking mog you have there Steve , thats the sort of thing i could do with but for now i think i will be looking for a timber trailer lol

  25. Give either PeteB on here a shout as they have a decent multcher or failing that give give julian cullis a call who is also at green mech , i priced a job to get one in and it worked out to be spot on cost wise but sadly the job fell through
