  4. so how easy would it be to re classify a 7.5 ton lorry down to 5.5 tons , the reason im asking is because i am thinking about getting a 7.5 ton daf and shortening the body , i feel that the extera grunt under the bonnet so to speak would be really usefull towing the chiper especially on these old cornish roads !!!
  5. you got any pictures of it ????
  6. did anyone see the vw golf that chop shop did foy jonney vagas ???
  7. i was always told that double entry is great !!! and beavers love it lol on a serious not i much prefer to use a rifle to trap them!!! i find it relaxing tbh, but brians idea with a shotgun does sound like great fun

  12. well chaps , i recieved my replacment pair of type c stretch airs last tuesday i wore them weds, thurs and today , and to my supprise (not) the stitching has gone just beneath the zip so will be calling justin tomorrow , has anyone elts had this happen . you would think that the areas that will sufer most wear on a pair of triusers designed for climbers would be re inforced . this time i think the stitching has gone as there is no sign of dammage to the fabric but honestyl come on pfanner get it sorted oh and yes i have only worn braces with these !!!!
  13. so you could still get 2 ton on roughly give or take a couple hundred kg

  17. on the pluss side your kit stays dry and when you leave your truck your kit is securly locked away , on the negative side the dont carry quite as much chip . oh and the other BIG pluss is that you can recline yor seat so your not sat bolt upright and you can get some shut eye should you wish to at lunch time !
  18. great stuff so far my only tipple in the fencing panel department was a B&Q fance panel that ended up with a lumb of sycamore through it lol:blushing:

  20. so how well aquainted at riding the hook are you john:sneaky2:
  21. ask timberwolf , there is a tech help thread set up on here , failing that look through the members list and look for the one called timber wolf the guy is called steve and he is a great help !!!
  22. but still how are they allowed to use a man basket ?? when using the crane i have asked the opperator to stop the cranes hook from opening and they will do this . also crane drivers and crane companies are trained and taught and qualified to inspect the crane prior to use and after use . i was lucky enough to have a go at opperating a crane only two weeks ago , i was amazed how much technology there is in a crane's cab !!
  23. after reading all of the posts on here about chipper training i feel that there is almos an arrogance about training , traners and tranises , i saw first hand what can happen to a person that trys to kick brush/timber through a chipper - the lad lost his leg , all of the muscle, flesh, tendons etc were stripped by the feed rolers as he had his hands and other leg trying to pull himself back out . i dont know how many times i see people sitting on the hopper while the machine is still running . also is it not a good idea to teach people that know nothing about chippers why they should not feed rakings through the chipper or why they should trim off the ends of branches that are covered in soil or have bits of tarmac stuck to the end where the branch has it the floor but end first ??? in the end it will save all of us chipper owners alot of time and money !!!
