  1. We have a izusu with 1 ton hiab, its only the size of a cabstar so will get places a transit etc wont. the hiah will easy lift a 1,5m3 net off and customers like them as if they cant put them away straight away they put a sheet over and because they are on a pallet they are off the ground, some even leave them in the net if can can drop them to where they want them. Also looks a lot neater and no bits left on the driveways.
  2. If you look at his feedback is has solds lots at this price, under cut him by 5p and away you go, ha ha.
  3. I agree it looks no where good as a hakki, i certainly will not be trading mine in for one of those:thumbup1:
  4. I would of thought once the wood is cut and split to dry it would then last for years or am i wrong? or does it just go soft if left in lengths for couple years? And i am also £90 per cube
  5. Two of us can do 15 -20 cube a day packed into 1.5m3 nets(8 hours) if timber is all the same size (10 -12" best) and very straight. thats with a hakki 1x42 and a homemade log deck with a hydraulic infeed on it, loaded with a timber crane. I try and keep the processor going the whole time while other person loads wood, sets nets up, moves full ones etc.
  6. Hi there, its slowed right down now which i dont mind as am out of seasoned softwood as well now.

i cant find much harwood myself at the moment, its in high demand so been cutting softwood so at least i will have some seasoned wood.

if no one has any it better to have some wood even if only softwood.

Did you not get the 200 tons you had coming?,

    Mike

  7. What do you pay for sawdust, did you ever get your plant up and running at bristol which you spoke about to make briquettes, Mike

    Poplar

I have been offered 3 artic loads of black poplar at about the going rate for softwood round hear, would this be better than softwood as it would not have the sap in it???
  9. I had the same problem ran out the end dec, have had some softwood cord i have been cutting and sorting the dry but thats all gone now as well. Hopefully it stays mild for next couple months:biggrin:
  10. Does any one no the motor size of the infeed coveyor motor(the one on the end with the gripper to pull log onto conveyor belt), i am trying to get a couple of motors the same size to make my own log deck, thanks,
  11. ran out around christmas so starting on next years now, got bit of dry softwood but people are fusssy and want hard wood (until they get delivered load of wet hard wood).
  12. I have been looking for the same thing, prices seem to be stupid for a couple hydraulic motors and some box section, thinking maybe can get one made somewhere for alot less money:confused1:
  13. Is that with vat, sounds expensive for roadside although i no timber prices are set to go through the roof.
  14. I keep these small logs seperate and put them all into 1m3 nets. This way you have your 4-6" logs done for the customers who want tiny logs, with out having to cut them all small specially, therefore saving time and keeps every one happy.
  15. I certainly wouldn't sell such green wood to anyone though- they would never come back. Thats what i think, why ruin your reputation, if you sold all your wood you have seasoned you have acheived your aim. you can only sell it once so sell it seasoned at a higher price and keep the customers coming back. if they go somewhere else in between and buy green wood they will then see how good yours is and be back next year:thumbup:
  16. Hi, Sorry i am nearly out my self, going be completly out by christmas, could do with a extra 200 cube myself and i am not going to sell green wood so will be starting cutting for next season soon,

    cheers,

    Mike

  17. I did not go to the show but there is a machine called a wood cracker that does rhis job, not sure if thats the one you saw, Mike
  18. I have been using these nets for a couple years, and think they are great. To stop them going out over the pallet you need them tight on the frame, and the strig at the bottom needs to be tied about 1/3 of its length. Then you need to pack them tight around the bottom, making sure they are pushed tight into the corners. as you fill the net with logs make sure you keep pushing the logs tight into the corners, this helps it keep its shape once frame removed. We normally have two people on the job, one on processor and the other sorting logs in net, setting up new ones, emptying saw dust, loading log deck etc. Hope this all makes sense:thumbup1:
  19. So are you going to let on what you charge for cube of logs, will save me a phone call:001_tongue:
  20. I have both the large and small one, they are stihl and bought them from world of power, with free delivery too:thumbup:
  21. I have just looked at your wesite and noticed you have the crates described as 1 ton crates, think you should chane it to volume m3 before trading standards catch up with you.
  22. It is a 16" bar, mine was any way.
  23. I have a few spare chains, a bar and some new belts for a 1 x37 as i no longer have the machine, pm sent to you.
  24. How long do you leave the small nets in the sun over the summer, the last time i left nets out in the sun over the summer i had to rebag half of them as the sunlight made the nets fall apart, or are the nets you use sunproof.
  25. You chose the stihl electric saw in the end, what do you think of it, very good i thought:thumbup:
