  1. As said i used to have same problem ,more likley burring than blunt it it sticks half way tthough, a sharpened chain will cure it but not for very long
  2. If the customer is very local you could tell them you would do a £30 load but they would get more wood from you than the other guy and it would be drier as well:thumbup1:
  3. Thats probably drier than 95% of the logs being sold, although oak does burn slowly so needs to be very dry but i would sell at 22%
  4. I have had the same:thumbup: when you run out of dry dont be tempted to sell wet they wont come back
  5. are you still cutting wood to sell this season, would not of thought it would be dry enough or are you onto next seasons logs
  6. Maybe you should try and do a deal with him and buy the lot:thumbup1:
  7. The one with the conveyor looks good as well other wise your going to be having to pick all the logs up off the ground once they are cut.
  8. Started to get a bit busier last week did about 15 cube which is still not good, then this not much better about 20 cube, also 1st time for few years not going to run out any time soon, never mind next year if i have any left 2 year seasoned wood will demand a higher price:thumbup:
  9. I have one of these, good machine from what i can see of other machines this one is the best in this price range, a hell of a lot better than the 1x37 i had before it.
  10. I think its got more to do with it being the warmest november on record, i know 3 big firewood outfits near me who all say they have never known it so quiet, just wat for a few frosts after all there's a lot of new woodburners being fitted and they will all want logs once it gets colder:thumbup:
  11. Im quite quiet, which i dont mind as thinking i may last to feb until i run out of logs unlike dec last year
  12. Yea i saw those brand new they are about £5200 but then plus vat which not sure if you can get back here, also not sure about import tax, and then you have to get it here,
  13. Hi yes thats right it is ment to lift 300kg at full reach ,its smallest one farma do in their range i think.
  14. I know for a farma CT3.8 - 6 timber trailer/crane, its 2007 never been used and have no idea of value to make a offer, any one any idea:confused1: thanks, Mike.
  15. You would thing they would at least put a picture of some nice looking logs
  16. Just thinking if you had a log that was say 30% in the middle but both ends say a third in are 20% would the average moisture content of that log be about 25%, and therefore ok to burn?
  17. It works both ways because although arb waste is very cheap it slows the whole process down no end if you have a good set up, compared to buying straight good sized cord so the out put is alot higher, as well as profit per ton, cube it also works out the same with a higher volume processed in the same amount of time.
  18. Thats a lot of nets do you keep them all undercover to keep them dry,bet you love the fuelwood splitta would not want to bag all those by hand:001_smile:
  19. I think you will be busy, from what i here there hasbeen hardly any hardwood in devon area this year and even less in cornwall
  20. My ads also have the prices on them so normally always get the order, except when people are outside the free delivery area and want a delivery price, but get most of them as well as they are expecting a delivery charge anyway, Mike.
  21. thanks for that, out of interest how many nets do you do a year or do you only do nets and not loose loads, Mike.
  22. Hi, yes keep me in mind still looking at a binderberger at the mo, problem with making a decent one is time:001_smile:
  23. a 24 part splitting knife, would need a ram 4 times that size to push a big dry hardwood oak log through there, or like nic says the knife will not last very long
  24. Hi thanks, i am doing all that i ment how do you stack the logs as as soon as i move pallet the logs move so straps become loose, i have just looked on your wesite and see you stack the logs upright, does this work better than stacking them on their flat as this is how i do it, i guess the logs have to be quite tight in the nets to stack them upright, thanks, Mike.
  25. Hi how do you strap your logs on with cordstraps, i have just started using cordstrap and as soon as move the pallet the straps come loose, have you any pics, cheers.
