  1. I'm always busier in winter. If peoples gardens are looking well in summer, they don't tend to want sawdust all over the place, and people trampling across their lawns and borders. Also, birds may be nesting. Lots of people think work is easier when there are no leaves on trees (to me, it does not make a lot of differance)
  2. Hi Chris, I just use Husqvarna 4 stroke engine oil in mine, and have never had any problems. I order my filters through Orange Plant and get them delivered. By the way, have you been on e-bay again?. I saw the re-sprayed one on there.
  3. I remember Dave Bentley (top bloke) I was there 93-95. Did HND. A good course, but even then the college was dated.
  4. I agree. Have used Chris a few times. Competent lad. Would recommend to anyone. Genuine lad, will use Chris again.
  5. I agree with some of what you have said. But I'm sure you have'nt forgotton the fake blood cheating scandel, which dogged Harlequin's a year or two back.
  6. Can't complain too much as I started watching Burnley in the late 1980s when they were a rubbish fourth division team. Nowadays, they are established in the Championship and doing ok really. To be honest Iv'e lost a bit of passion for the game. Most top level players are on too much money, with too little respect for the fans who support their teams. Shame really. Anyway, well done city.
  7. No highs or lows, just an average season for Burnley. Looking forward to a few local derby's next year. Namely, Blackburn and Owen Coyle's Bolton.
  8. I'm with NFU and haved been for about 10 years. Iv'e a 100ft height restriction on my policy, but in's enough for me. It was 10m which I told them is no good. One year it came with an exclusion working near roads, which I told then was no good, It was removed. I will consider changing in the future as it seems that every year they put some thing in the policy that stresses my out. Have my chipper (trailer) insured with them for £100 pound a year which is a bargain. However, like Deans it's classified as a trailer. Agree, a bit dodgy.
  9. I'd be tearing my hair out if I had to use that thing all day. Stress levels would be through the roof just waiting for the brash to go through.
  10. God help us if we embrace the EU. The sooner we are given a referendum the better. The EU has had it's day, it's downhill all the way from here. I'm all for trade links with Europe, but the sooner we abandon this sinking ship, the better. My vote will be for UKIP
  11. I probably work between 30 and 40 hours per week (paid) but then there's the chipper, chainsaws and van etc to potter about with when time permits. I do enough to pay the bills and enough to save for a rainy day. I'm in my early 40's and to be honest, not that ambitious. I'm not saying I love the job, but I don't hate going to work either. Time seems to fly when I'm at work. However, theres more to life than work, especially when it's being raining most of the week. Anyhow, its friday afternoon and I'm going for the usual round of golf.
  12. I agree, the Titanic has had an awful lot of coverage recently. The second world war is littered with examples of huge navel loss of life. Some well known like the loss of HMS Hood (only 3 survivors). Most, not as well known, such as the loss of loss of HMS Charybdis and HMS Limbourne. Approx 500 men died around The Channel Islands in October 1943. Their sacrifice should never be forgotten.
  13. Cost me about £95 for the basic one
  14. Also preferred to do neither but had to do CHAS for a client. Quite simple to fill in. Takes a few hours and you sent your details off to an assesser, who lets you know wether you have passed or not within a few days. Not sure about constructonline.
  15. Don't be put off from the L200. Iv'e a 2004 club cab and will consider another. Have done 60000 in it and the only real problem has been a couple of sets of heater plugs.
  16. Be interested to know where you got your information from. I could be wrong, but I thought all aga stoves were made at coalbrookedale in Shropshire. I stand to be corrected.
  17. Aga little wenlock. 5.7kw. Iv'e got one and my dads got one. Great little quality stove.
  18. Iv'e used Grazon 90 on docks and it works a treat. Never used it on bracken though. I hate using Grazon. It stinks to high heaven even with a face mask on. I really dislike using the stuff. Also, it's very expensive. It's supposed to be withdrawn from use in August 2012. I for one won't miss it.
  19. spray bracken every august for about 6 weeks. Usually spray with knapsack where the helecopter has sprayed the previous year. |What do you need to know? You can't buy asulux anymore, but have until end of the year to use up any remaining chemical (I think that's right) Most users stocked up before the ban came into force. NFU hope to get the ban changed. I think it was banned by europe, because of its use on spinich, and nothing to do with bracken. There is nothing elso that works as good as asulux for killing bracken. Not sure about docks.
  20. Had this recommendation been a few months ago, I might have watched it. Think I'll give it a miss now.
  21. I do a lot of spot spraying around young trees in forestry situations. I always use a dye for a number of reasons. Can I still add turf marker dye to my mixture. I really can't do without dye.
  22. avoid an hourly rate at all costs. Better a quote for the job or a day-rate. I find a day rate works well for me. The day rate is usually for two of us and the chipper. For smaller jobs I usually just provide a quote.
  23. That's actually a good point. The inboard clutch is a pain to fit, quite fiddly if I remember. But Iv'e never taken mine off the saw since I bought the winch about two years ago. Have had no problems using it on this system with an old 372xp. If you were constantly changing from saw to winch and back than an outboard clutch may be easier.
  24. will take a look, chers
  25. What Is the greenaway like for spot spraying, as that is what it would be used for a lot?
