  1. We were called out to remove this laminated Willow limb, we didn't break a window or scratch the paint after inspection by the very chilled out owner

  4. Has anybody put multi tip on a small Husqvarna SG13? not had much luck finding new original teeth.
  5. Spoke to a local tree company who got undercut by a firm from "Somewhere about a 100 miles away" on a one day job for 3 men, tracked chipper and a 7.5t wagon for £400.........
  6. My Puma "land rover" couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding!
  7. Even a small Compact and skidder winch can move some big bits of timber if needed! Not sure if the link works!
  8. I use a diamond disk in an angle grinder and to take four pairs off the machine, cleaned, sharpened, and back on in about an hour. Will try Jonsie when their past it!
  9. The Alcathoe's Bat has been recorded as crossing the Channel although previously thought to be too small and weak for the crossing.
  10. Nice video Dean. Of the 3000+ Bats tested between 1986-2002 only two were found positive for rabies (EBL), both Daubenton's. Bats will come very close as they will often take the midges, etc that appear around you and above your head in warm weather.
  11. They are the only true flying mammal whose natural habitat and feeding area's are in decline due to increased building, agricultural changes and uses of pesticides, over management of trees............
  12. Good advice No point hanging around if the weather is bad because they wont come out.
  13. If you are pulling logs you would be better fitting "Latch type hooks" to the chains as the small spring loaded keepers on normal hooks dont last very long when pulled through the mud/undergrowth. When choking chains always make sure the the chain is being pulled into the hook when under tension and NOT onto the open side of the hook/keeper.
  14. Hi Matt, when we are lifting/pulling logs we generally use a set of "Brothers" (2 chains with hooks off of a central ring). If you have a shortening clutch or grab hook in the system you can shorten the chains or create loops. I'm sure Yvonne at Clark would put you straight. The T bar stops the chain from falling out of the keyhole/slider when used on skidding type applications.
  15. My first Makita/Dolmar 7901 got nicked after a few years of use, so I got another and its still going strong. Fantastic saw for the money.
  16. Not a single mark on the grass after a whole day moving rubbish/compost etc. We did some work in a quarry and the site manager said we could have them cos there were in the scrap pile
  17. Sorry to hear that James, I will spread the word this side of the shire.
  18. It wont lift a full dumpy bag of sand, but it would lift maybe 3/4 of a bag on the forks on the flat. Ground conditions/rear ballast and lift height make a massive difference to what can be done safely.
  19. I use a Landini 45hp with Loader and Igland 4201 skidder winch. It is very capable for what I need and it can be towed to site behind the Land Rover.
  20. A bin lorry would be brilliant with that compacting thing at the back. Ideal for all those jobs where you dont want to take the chipper!!!
  21. We have a set of Khumo's on the back of our crew cab Transit and it will get most places even when driven by a muppet. Not sure what they are called/size as I am 200 odd miles away from it at the minute but will find out when back. Transit for domestic stuff/roadside and Landys if its proper mud.
  22. Oh yes.....very tasty. That grab on the loader would go very well on my Landini! What make is it please?
  23. Moved to the Michoacan from the Distel. Less drop than when I tried the Vt.
