  1. Good knot, used it when I started using micro pulleys and Boa 9mm.
  2. Easy way of sending ropes up to the climber. Sometimes do the slip version.
  3. Sending saw's or things up the rope to the climber.
  4. Sometimes as a stop knot when replacing starter cord.
  5. Learnt it on my first climbing course and used it for ages until I found micro pulleys. Only use it when working both ends of climbing line now or showing newbies how to tie it.
  6. Been there, seen it, done it! Electrical tape is fab.
  7. I would do but I've max'd out my friends/family/pub recently due to the fact that on the 4th June (cancelled from 1st May due to 30mph winds) I'm going to do a 400'+ abseil (local land mark the Northampton Lift tower). £200+ for a Land Mine clearing charity and £300 ish for the local Air Ambulance so far. Good luck to all those that have got the guts.
  8. If you find yourself on a boat that has sprang a small leak/weep pouring ash down the outside (above the leak) will slow or stop it as the ash gets drawn into the gap. Probably useless info but it does work.
  9. If your strimmer was playing up/running hot before the new carb was fitted it may be worth having a look at the exhaust port (take the exhaust off) as this could be coked up which would not let the engine run properly. Easy fix if your carefull.
  10. Hi Ben Try Kilworth machinery (Ashby-de-la-Zouch) they hire stuff. Mark is the guy to speak to. Their web site shows some stuff and I have bought various off them over the years. P.s see ya friday:001_smile:
  11. Large customer asked for it, so I got one and lost the cost in their one of their next invoice's.
  12. I had mine chipped (after the warranty expired) cos the power delivery didnt suit the six speed box and it was hopeless at towing compared to my old TD5. Yes it does 90+ on the motorways and better through the gears. Not sure on how it will last due to the amount of warranty work it has had and the amount of gearbox oil it still loses (first gearbox replaced at 50,000 under warranty) its now on 73,000 miles.
  13. Bit of both! My local planners are giving me a hard time over a small polebarn for my pigs/chickens because they think I want the building for commercial Arb purposes. However local large farms near here are putting massive barns up in stunning locations, followed by a beautiful house for their children.....
  14. If you have over 12.5 acres you are classed as a Farmer and can get away with almost anything and probably get a grant for doing so and have the right to moan about how little you earn from it.....! Allegedly :001_tt2::001_tt2:
  15. Cheers Monkey D. Nice website.
  16. Any ideas what these little balls are? Think its a Silver maple. Cheers
  17. BlackBerry. Arent Androids space men/creatures things?
  18. Zip line to the pub sounds much better:thumbup:
  19. Hi Pigglet It looks tidy. The Kawasaki engine is almost bomb proof, brakes are simple, hydro system never gave me any problems except when the plastic cooling fan (on top of the gearbox) got damaged by a piece of wood. Get someone to sit on the handle bars (remove the ignition key) so you can look under the mower deck. Rotate the blades by hand but watch the tip of the blade as it passes a fixed point, the other end of the blade should pass in the same spot (not higher/lower or nearer/further away) if it doesnt something is bent. Also check where the two blades almost meet in the centre of the deck. Again same height and level, if not you will get an uneven finish on your grass cutting and again something is wrong. There shouldnt be any signs of blade contact with the deck. Vee belt pulleys may wear/tilt over time. Jockey wheel bearing often get missed with the grease gun and just rotate on the bolts instead. Keep the jockey wheel arms/height spacers greased as this makes streering easier. Agri tyres are availiable for more extreme mowing. Good luck.
  20. Good quality 50:1 mixed directly at the filling station in 5, 10 or 20 Ltrs at a time to make it easy on the maths and no confusion over "is this mixed or does it need oil ?"
  21. Hi Pigglet I have used Ferris mowers for years and they are very good but secondhand would of had a hardlife. Flail mowers are prone to the blade lugs being broken off the rotor and then being welded back on, this will put the machine out of balance leading to rotor bearing wear/failure and bad vibrations for machine and the user! Rotary machines may show signs of cracks in the mower deck around the blade spindle/bearing housing this also is vibration evidence. Feel free to ask away if you have any questions.
