  1. That's why she's 'ex'
  2. Leave my ass out of it; it's starting to feel vulnerable
  3. Yeah Happy Birthday Doug Jon (today: tomorrow I'll be someone else 🤭)
  4. No they haven't
  5. Nice try @spudulike - thanks but it's not those. I've run the saw up and all seems well so I'll keep the pin safe and wait for the bang. Cheers
  6. I was hoping to avoid bitterness and recrimination. Move on - it's over. 242 and I are very happy. I'm sorry I mean - 242's fine 'n' all but Seven of Nine would have been my first choice 😋
  7. Oh God - didn't you get my text?
  8. Dunno without a pic @Stubby! You forgot the pic. Were you my wife once?!
  9. @spudulike Forgot to attach the pic when I was my wife 🤣 And yes, it was flapjack!
  10. He's a bloke called Steve Steve. OSM above has his handle
  11. This year's masterpiece that is no more. The Wild Man of the Woods being crowded by houses. Across the road is a Redrow development on a small portion of the land owned by a wealthy Kazakh businessman who obviously has the ambition of building on all his acres here. The racing horse stud that used to occupy the land has been relocated to France so acres of potentially productive land are lying unused and unmanaged in the hope or expectation of planning permission on the lot one day. Last year's bonfire archer (see above) was aiming straight at the development!
  12. Abso-bloody-lutely. I'm mystified too. I'm on my third Kingcab Navara and don't know how I'd manage with anything else. A single cab would have more buck space but no secure tool/clothing/sandwich locker, a double cab would have too little buck space. The Kingcab is perfect; carries the occasional second passenger too for a short trip
  13. What an amazing pic 👍
  14. To be equally serious a couple of folk have suggested I carry one ready for the next hornet sting!
  15. Had a similar experience with hornets in the garden; reacted badly to my first sting and I'm told by several people the next one will be worse The solution? Keep away from the nest. So I have
  16. Ooh you're a bad man!
  17. If you want bonfires come to East Sussex, home of the bonfire societies First fire is in September; just about every society visits every other society's fire through the season into November Lewes is of course the biggest; that's actually on Nov 5th - Tuesday Ours here in East Hoathly attracts several hundred people who watch the fire in the recreation ground and then process to a nearby field for fireworks A local woodworker builds the effigies for the fire; this was last year's fantastic effort
  18. Agreed. It did occur to me that someone's said it with a straight face and the comment's been taken at - well, face value!
  19. A friend has been told by a supplier of woodturning blanks and boards that he's struggling to obtain sycamore due to a ban on the felling of it in the North. Have I missed something? I've tried the great god Google and only get hits on the Gap Syc on Hadrian's Wall. Cheers, Jon
  20. And much more likely under the circumstances; thanks David
  21. How would you listen to that show now? iPlayer?
  22. Several years ago at the old place I bought a garden shed from Malvern Garden Buildings who are now a sizeable company with many outlets; at the time they operated from a light industrial estate on a farm in Worcs. The shed wasn't cheap but I was after quality. I got 15mm flooring and 18mm walls and roof; I couldn't find that anywhere else on the web. Defo worth a look if you're prepared to invest in a shed that will last a long time. Felt's ok if it's heavy duty torch on but it's still vulnerable to damage from falling branches or carelessly laid garden ladders put there for storage. Or, as suggested, build your own with bespoke boards and timbers from a sawmill.
  23. Was sent this pic by a customer. The tree's a recently died garden apple. The original assumption was HF but I'm not sure - looks like Meripilus to me; could it be?
  24. And if you're worried about water wicking up from the concrete into the floor joists stand the shed on bricks/blocks that have pond liner or dpm over them
