  1. Have just returned from delivering wood and there was a peacock stirring in the client's shed. The perfect place for it - cool and dry.
  2. I think it's looking at Go Ape-style organised recreational climbing Ad but I'm not sure! There was a 'roll up and clamber about the canopy' day here last June. It was hugely popular and the teenagers I've talked to who've been to Go Ape have raved about it. With the right marketing I'd say it stood a better chance than many ventures. Is this for you or someone you know? Jon
  3. Disturbed in hibernation. I find several in the woodpile every winter. I put them in the shed that never has its door closed so it stays cold; they don't want to warm up and use energy they can't replace with there being no food available.
  4. A mineral deficiency/imbalance? The soil is presumably acid and poor (bracken) so trace elements could be locked up.
  5. immobilise - the home of the National Property Register and Recovery Service
  6. Blimey, that brings back memories. I corn/silage/dung carted with those in '78/79. Oil? Not a clue - whatever was cheapest that month I guess and had been put in the 50-gall drum with handpump. No use to you whatsoever though am I. Soz!

    Jokes???

If you shake your head from side to side while saying the word 'gullible' it sounds like 'orange'.
  8. Took the words right out of my mouth! See the thread 'Cheap way to empty your pickup'. Costs £175!

    Hand cream

I have farming rellies who swear by tubs of Boots own WSP - White Soft Paraffiin. Costs £5-6 for a tub weighing ?1lb or so. They've tried all sorts down the years and stuck with this. I've found the Norwegian Fisherman's stuff to be about as much use as an ashtray in a hang glider.
  10.
  11. I'm guessing that Pwlhelli's too far but Kindlett from here (Wyn) may be able to help. It looks like he's not active currently but you may be able to track him down via ebay (look for firewood in that area).
  12. But fill up quick when the light does come on: I've run out before now within 15 miles of the light coming on!
  13. Europe, Africa...
  14. If it's any consolation there's a yard nearish me with 10' spiked palisade fencing round it and the gits still screwed a locked shipping container inside it the other day in broad daylight - and all for a saw and a strimmer I believe. You did your best... Happy bloody Christmas!
  15. I read that at 7.15 on a Saturday morning - what a great way to start the day!!!

    PSI Powerbox

Bound to say that weren't they. Got a call from a 'talker this morning who took a Freelander for service at one of the South East's biggest L/R dealers; the manager politely asked him to unplug the box. Five minutes later the manager was happy! This is definitely a case of the heart not grieving over what the eye doesn't see.
  17. Have had a card for decades; it's one of the first things you see when you open my wallet. It says 'take what you want' (but wouldn't recommend the eyes!)

You'll be beating me to it there. Prepare for waffle: I suspect they won't want us using the things but they also won't want to admit that the warranties will stand the unit's use. Interesting point made about insurance. I wonder if the ins. cos. would see fitting one as a 'modification'? Declare it and have your premium go up, don't declare it and risk your insurance being voided because you didn't tell them about it. The former I reckon - any sniff of an opportunity for moneymaking... Oh, while I'm here how the heck do I 'Quote' reply to more than one post in one reply of my own?! My ignorance is the reason for all my short 'reply' posts. Thanks for the surprisingly positive replies all; I was expecting the Powerbox to be slated if truth be told. Jon

Nigel, it's them making the offer!

Would definitely check, yes. The letter claims that it doesn't affect it but that's not the same as the manufacturer saying it is it. Cheers.

That's interesting; the letter is an offer of 25% discount off RRP.
  23. Just had a letter offering one of these for £337.50 (+VAT presumably as the letter doesn't say). As I'll be getting a new vehicle (Navara) in January I was wondering if this was worth considering as it would potentially be 'boosting' and 'saving' for the whole time I had that vehicle. Cynicism suggests that a gizmo claimed to reduce fuel consumption (4-6mpg extra) and increase torque may just be too good to be true. Further reasoned cynicism/support for the gadget appreciated. Cheers, Jon
  24. In the unlikely event that Milner can't help you try Car Parts: Car Breakers, Used Car Parts and Engines, 4x4, Gearboxes, Ford and Volvo Auto Parts Not as dodgy as the name looks - the parts are new! - and only today I've paid just £4 more with them for a light cluster than Milners' price.
  25. Could it be feasible to minimise the amount of cutting by using a crane and getting yourself a tungsten chain?
