  1. For the first time this year I've had wood wasps attracted by cut Lawson's.
  2. I'll say! The only weight shown on my 2011 V5c is Revenue weight; the Mass in service weight is blank, along with most of the form! So I know how much I can weight loaded but not how little I do weigh empty! I'll carry on treating it like a car then, especially as it's a King cab.
  3. Complicateder and complicateder. Thanks Ken. Justme replied yesterday somewhere saying that I was a car as long as I didn't exceed the magic 2040kg. What's that? Unladen weight I guess. But where do I find it? Not on the V5, not in the handbook, not on the plate on the leading edge of the driver's door...
  4. But not in Scotland where the A9 is!
  5. Justme; is this right? Previous threads and your excellent posted article yesterday says no I think... For the purpose of all speed limits I treat my Navara as a car.

    Goaty

Dreadful news; so sorry for all concerned.
  7. I'd do exactly that. The effort in getting it looking good probably won't be worth it; get a new one.
  8. The multistemmed growth habit I think is just the result of hard pruning to maximise the bred stem colour; leave them alone and they'll grow in usual form. 'Insignificant flowers' though... I'm quite proud of mine so perhaps not the same as the OP's but it was agreed to be C.alba at the time of posting. I still agree!
  9. Why would this not be a common Dogwood - C.alba is it or sanguinea? This is outside the back door here. My mental image of large Philadelphus has it with flaky light coloured bark.
  10. Mid June on the outskirts of Dornoch
  11. Tulip is in the Magnolia family so the name isn't that far out.

    Wormy Logs

Happens all the time in ash left for more than a couple of months. As said noting to fret over.
  13. That's actually the name I knovv for it - never heard of Bluebottle until Google flashed it up!
  14. Got loads in the garden (Caterham); it's a Centaurea, probably montana - Great Bluebottle. I've just found a Google entry stating its invasive habit;makes sense - it spreads fast but it's easily enough controlled. Pollinators like the flovvers.
  15. ...or simply a visiting sapsucker of some kind. Any honeydevv? Google says that vvhitefly can be a problem. Sorry for the 'vv's; the Double U key's bust!
  16. Great stuff. Mull, it's a moth but Gavvd knovvs vvhich one.
  17. Alvvays been listed as a 'British moth' but rare. Good one. VVhere? (Sorry for the 'vv' but my Double U key's bust!)
  18. Evening Primrose - Oenothera biennis

    A/t tyre

No idea re the noise but my Nav's currently running 38mpg on BFGs following a return trip to John O'Groat's. Coming past Perth last Tuesday I hit 41mpg, my Personal Best!

Depends on what you're doing with your vehicle. If you're dragging a 5-ton trailer up a steep slope of broken glass I forgive you.

That's more the reaction I was expecting but I kid you not. In fairness to yourself I'll bet you drive with more heavy loads than I do and do more towing than me. But 60k miles is a genuine claim.

Dean, that's outstanding mileage but presumably it's M-way and A-road miles on that Disco...?

Well I was going to say I get 60k miles from my BFGs but thought I'd be laughed at for such a claim. tomm156 - it looks like BFGs will give you best value but as said the ATs were very good too.

I've had ATs and BFGs on Navaras and the BFGs last twice as long. £160 ea for BFGs sounds a great price.
  25. Noting that the Hulk's suitable for rope up to 14mm dia, the size I use, I think it looks a lovely shiny toy. Therefore I'm tempted but I'll await serious and better informed comment. Some will obviously think it's over complicated but it's not, it's just flexible.
