  1. not too sure what you mean? There's plenty cheap firms round here here too.
  2. Its pretty easy, but only the 3rd I've done so not sure if its right. Tied the speedline off at the top with a bowline and ran it to a high pulley in the other tree down to a grcs. Control line set up as normal with a capstan. We kept the speedline loose and one guy let the speedline pull slack trough the grcs as bits fell as the other ran out the capstan. Once the pieces were stable he then tightened the speedline on the grcs. It all worked a treat. Had a 80ft stem rigged down by breakfast monday, set up the speedline and had the other tree stripped out by 3 the same day.
  3. I had a problem this.time.with music. I think I filmed.one.vid in mov and had to down load a free converter to change it to avi. Took ages it did

I can arrange an IPAF course very close to Bicton if a few more people want to do it. I have 2 guys I could put on the course to start with
  13. Nice. I went there few years back its mind blowing. Did you get to see the maccys on 17 mile drive too?
  14. Try to avoid paying anything. When I started I arranged to tip chip in return for giving the farmer logs. He has now sold all his livestock and has a thriving log business and we have about an acre of land for storage and 2 story secure lock up for free

  16. I think I pay around 300 or bit less for 1 million cover 30 to 40k turnover in addition to the contracting insurance. You should be covered under your existing policy for verbal advice
  17. Good stuff. I might have a go at that double blocking soon. Any particular tricks we should be aware of?
  18. Looks like you've had some good jobs on this winter
  19. Yeah. Nice day as it's only 200m from my house. Walked to site and back with the dog.
  20. Started a phased reduction of this old pollard today. Thin and light reduction for now. Photos are before, after and the brash which came off in the morning. Took a similar amount off in the afternoon too so quite a prune.
  21. You might only be 20 but keep working like that and you will be very very good in a few more years. Only comment is that I wouldn't bother trying to cradle some of those limbs. More chance of the butt swinging back into you
  22. Yeah, I designed it. Originally the clients wanted a tree to tree zipline tour. Trouble is its very flat terrain and there are not such big trees in this part of the reserve. We could have built it in another place but that area was too sensitive to encourage mass tourism. We've come up with a tower to tower zipline tour instead now but its much more expensive to build so progress can be frustraitingly slow.
  23. Work is still slowly progressing on the African zip line project. They are pooring the floor this week, then need to go up another floor. Hopefully ready to hang the cables later this year
