  1. I agree. If your with a decent firm then you'll be covered by thiers. When I did free lance climbing I worked for some proper tools who either didn't have insurance or would have been happy to hang me out to dry if something had gone wrong. I took out PL from the start.
  2. Heavy thin of upper crown to right hand side and reduction of upper crown. No work at all to mid or lower crown. Just wanted to show that meripilus doesn't always mean instant removal.
  3. GRCS again. along with a backpack blower a grcs is the best thing I have ever bought for work
  4. Yeah. Whilst living in Costa Rica I was nearly hit by a falling tree. I was walking up in to the jungle to fix the water pipe which was an almost daily job. My girlfriend at the time was with me and said "Is that tree falling over?" It was and falling right at us. We both ran diferent ways and it came straight down the track exactly where we were standing. Also seen a large piece of Maccy come down in the wind but it wasn't nearly as exciting. Let me know if your coming down this way Tony. I know a few places up your street.
  5. sounds about right. Think mine is around 300 for 1 million cover.
  6. sounds great. Top it and leave the mess in the garden then
  7. Fell the tree in the winter. Nice table
  8. Your all wrong. I,d reduce it by 20 percent without a mewp no sweat. I'd charge more than 300 quid for ot too
  9. Cool shots Tom. I have a couple of biggish Montery Pines coming up. They're always knarly trees!
  10. Na. Photos from uk Argentina morocco Romania California costa rica Gambia and panama. I spent some time in oz but never made it to nz
  11. Sorry chap those are not the same trees. The merip is on a copper Beech. That shot was taken a while back, but I'm pruning that tree next week as it happens.
  12. Your right both times. Spences 90 tonner. How'd you guess it was thiers?
  13. Holm Oak reduction from 2 days this week. Was reduced and thinned by 25% leaf area. I'd say we removed 2-3 tons of material from this beast. Before, after, halfway through and stem. Cool tree
  14. I sold 50 large leylandi straight from site for £200. Buyer paid haulage and I was glad to see the back of them. Where are you?
  15. Well thanks for all the positive comments. In reply, these machines have a fairly stable 2nd hand value. Granted it would likely devalue if I had it 12 months from new. I paid a fair price for this (a little over £8500) less than a year ago and its hardly been used. Why would its value have dropped? As far as your other comments. Steve, I think your post was a little out of order there, I can't see where you get that impression. If you've got something to say you can send me a private message. And wiredforsmoke, I'm selling this as its surplus to my requirements, for all you know I could be down and out and need to raise some cash. Its a pretty low thing to interfere with someones attempts to sell something, especially if you have no interest in it. Why do you think this is anymore aceptable on a faceless forum? Please don't turn this into some stupid catfight. I'd rather just keep this open for anyone who might be on the look out for a decent 2nd hand grinder.
  16. That's about what I paid and it's what it's worth. I'm not asking to recoup it's new price. If your not interested in buying it keep your sour comments to yourself
  17. looking for £8500 plus vat. Thats about what i paid for it less than a year ago
  18. That's it. Have an idea to of how to use it on a long rope for set. How would the splice last with the wear of going though pulleys?
