  1. Cool glad you got that work, hes a good contact hey?. Things good here, less staff meaning less money but less stress so I'm happy. Got another weeks work in the sun soon, got a passport yet?
  2. I didn't think they could bite either, but she got into bed and squashed one and it had her. I knocked it off and still didn't believe it bit, but her arm swelled and she had a welt.
  3. Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. I'm only just returning to srt so I'm learning it all.again. I've been using the wrench for about a week so just experimenting. I used to climb srt 10 years ago when I was doing rain forest work, the thowline trick ( we used paracord at the time) is how we were returning the ropes back then. I'm going experiment climbing just on the wrench for a month or 2. If I stick with it I might just get 100m of rope and an id so that we have the option to rescue from the ground.
  4. Once of those big house spiders I would bet. I didn't think they could bite but my missis got bit by one. Her arm swelled up and she had a welt just like that
  5. Just clip your throw line on to the running bow line and drop the bag and line out the tree. Just pull your thowline to get the rope back.
  6. But then its not retreivable from the ground. If you use a bowline you can pull it back down with your thowline.
  7. I could sleep anywhere too after 3 galons of cider. How's things stu? Still busy, did you get all that work Simon put you up for?
  8. What advantages and disadvantages does the wrench have in aerial rescue?
  9. That sounds great. I have 2 hand ascenders. The rope wrench has renewed the way I'm thinking about climbing
  10. Used if taking down a bigish ash this week. Once I had a top anchor I could just spike use my hands to climb and my strop pulling the wrench up. You need some one to hold the rope though.
  11. Only if you throw your.strop over your shoulder and have someone hold your rope down
  12. Thanks. Hd it is then

  13. If you want to climb the normal way you just disconnect the tether and let the rope wrench flap about on top of your hitch. Or you get the quick release pin.
  14. Hi Ian. I'm going to buy a go pro. Do you think its worth getting an hd model for just stuff for my web site and you tube. I never bother watching stuff in hd so I wander if I should just get the cheaper one and a remote?

  15. I'll pm you 2 numbers tomorrow because the numbers are on my phone which I'm using to write this.
  16. I know a couple of guys east of exeter who would be more thanikely buy it, but I doubt you'd get much more that what it would cost to haul. Unless you could transport it?
  17. Was going to post something similar. I know of a.few trees that seem to have increased in vigour since being partialy wind blown.
  18. Lot of that going on today Matt. We pulled off a pruning job because of the wind then spent the rest of the day on call outs. Got to love the $$$$$$$.
  19. I use pre printed forms like that with t and c on the reverse. I could email you a copy to look at of you want.
  20. For the work I do I found it better to buy a landrover 130 tipper and and ifor Williams trailer to run alongside the truck. The landy holds 1.3t and the trailer 2.3t. That's as big a payload as most 7.5t trucks. The advantage of this is you can have 2 trucks on the same.job or run 2 jobs and have 4x4 capabilities and the winch.
  21. Thanks, I was looking in the video section.
  22. Where did you get 80 replies.to this video? I saw this on tree buzz yesterday and you had just 3. Can I see a link please?
  23. gibbon
