  1. is that the one with the slopey front thats 90 hp, i have heard they are pretty soft, they use them a lot for cherry pickers.
  2. i just looked at it again and paused it, that must of been close mate, good job:001_smile:
  3. what an old git, we had an old guy today park beside a tree we were pollarding, it was a no parking zone, my lad asked him nicely if he could move bacause we wouldnt like to hit his car with a branch, his reply was hit my car and i will hit you, put up the window and blasted the horn non stop for 2 mins till his poor old wife came out a house, these type of folk were young idiots, middle age idiots and now old idiots. oh nice wall mate,
  4. prepare to feel weaker than a weak thing. i have tried it a few times indoors. when i could get something to grip with my hand then it was a doddle(upper arms)when it got to the finger grip stuff i was goosed. you tire so quickly, but you will learn loads, and you will find a big difference when you go back into a tree, have fun:001_smile:
  5. a good operator can make the world of difference:001_smile:
  6. good one mate, that looks cool, will remeber that one for the future
  7. i thought there was a shortage of work:confused1: 3 days with an experienced climber, they should be paying you:001_smile:
  8. i had a pair of nitrak 10yers ago 150 quids worth then, tripped and put my spike right through them on the first day:scared1:
  9. did the big gate post get hit in the first vid?
  10. when you are skinny and wiry, you learn how to move heavy things, why lift when you can roll, i have knocked lumps off a tree a that jcb struggles to shift, i am 12 stone and really feel the difference for when i was 11 stone, you learn to keep everything close in, elbows tucked in and use your legs and thighs to manouver things, you dont need an 088 above your head, pic it up and lump it in bit of revs and she is away. the best tree cutter i know and have ever seen on the ground or up a tree is about 5 foot and will weigh about 9 stone, he taught me almost everything i know about tree cutting, keep it simple and you need plenty of bottle, he could put a felling cut in a tree with an 088 above his head, handy when felling roadside trees full of nails and wire, i thought i was strong till i met him, pull ups and dips, best thing a climber can do imo to keep strong.
  11. cheers dave, i would recon the standing butt would be easy 30feet. i will give the customer a call. thats good advice mate. thanks stevie
  12. watch yourself with the tall deadwood, it will be like powder, it can bounce of other limbs and come back and get you. give every branch a good thump before grabbing it.those big epicormic birds nest can be a nightmare.they can knock off your hat, get up your nose(ask edd)and tangle your line in knots. other than that nice trees nice job
  13. they are excellent, great with spikes as well, just reach round and its there. best 20quid i have spent in ages. i was working in a small rowan though the other day, and it was a bit of a pain, kept getting stuck behind small branches so i just put it on my thigh instead:001_smile:
  14. the blower is awesome tom, sounds like a hovercraft
  15. i bought mine last year when i was rich, watching the pennies myself mate.
  16. you need to get a go of the new stihl mate, you will love it:001_smile:
  17. i will be wearing the blower back to front to give boost in the optimum direction, and the throttle will be stuck full on with the lever, so my right arm is free, i do feel the exhaust up my left nostril may hamper my aim:001_tongue:
  18. its ok thats on my left hand:001_smile:
  19. and while we are whizzing thru the air , in a cloud of over rich fueled blowers in a haze of blue smoke, mick is firing firrets wearing velcro tank tops at us with a big boy catapult. and it is over a pen of prevoked border terriers:scared1:
  20. if someone had a narrow lorry with a 15ton hiab, then it could be done, it is close to a small road. but it would need to be very worth while as the customer isnt short of a few bob and doesnt want any mess. but they are really up for habitat and the monolith idea.
  21. aerial zip line jousting , yorkshire hairdresser vs fluffy slipper scotsman:001_tongue:2 of deans zip lines running paralel. me at one end frank at the other. powered by back pack leaf blowers. 2 man enter 1 man leave:001_smile:
