  1. A few years back I was closing off an old footbridge, most of the timber was missing , what was there was dodgy . We were just finishing putting the sign up, when a lady in crutches appeared, we chatted about the bridge needing fixed, etc etc, then she said bye and started across the bridge, I said what are you going? She looked at me with a look that only a rambler with rights can give, laughed and hobbled over the dodgy bridge. By the end of the day the sign , tape and wired on pallets were in the river!
  2. It is a land rover remember!! I think your right though, they are usually just behind the cab.
  3. Kettlebells will get you strong, if you can do endless chin ups You'll be strong enough though. Bet i couldn't do 5 now!
  4. I haven't spent a penny on my RR and I've owned it for 18 months, only an MOt with no faults. Mark there's a disco pickup coming out, there was a pic on here a few months back, looked cracking.
  5. 50 strokes! I would of thrown it away tbh! A chain 13"-25" chain takes about 10 minutes to sharpen on the deck or your knee, if its a mate then no charge, if its every week, then have a laugh about it and still sharpen it for nothing. Is £7.50 going to change your life?if you cant afford a file every week, then I'd get some business advice:) If he's not appreciative then just don't do it.
  6. Cut off those big lower limbs and job done, pine love big wounds, that will resin up and be dandy. It's a pine beside property, it's always going to get in the way. Reducing the crown, will leave the stem open to sun, not that the tree will be to bothered, it's got enough on its plate with hundreds of pruning cuts, but you will loose your nice shade, to me that's the only reason to keep it in your location.
  7. I've been wearing the anti vibe gloves all summer, I got them off F r jones for milling with the Alaskan.
  8. Some gym nuts might take the tractor and lorry ones, they love flipping them over. Worth a try if you get stuck.
  9. Nice 1, wear good gloves, ragged wire under your nails isn't cool. Some pics would be good:) Stay safe!
  10. Catch 22 then for you though I can understand the dealers point aswell. Fear of the unknown. I would of thought those in charge could tell you who they have dealt with before, as long as its not stihl it can be posted.
  11. I would of thought they would release the saw once funds had cleared or are you looking for it before?
  12. Great bit of history, I've only ever seen that book years ago in my old bosses office . I think I'll ask for it for chrimbo:)
  13. It's just a scratchy horrible job, the stuffs like Velcro , evil Velcro !!
  14. Now that's cool! How old is it, looks really fresh:)
  15. Love the owl! The head is cracking!
  16. That tractor was the landscapers next door. It was brilliant, am American import, Low, wide and the guy was a good operator. It went up and down that banking with ease, it was hydro static so no spinning and very stable. The company had 9 of them!
  17. Beautiful day Mozza, it was nice watching other folk work:)
