  4. The 200. 8", the size below yours , the jump to the 250 is about double though in production easy I would say.
  5. Do you honestly think he is concerned about your price? Whatever you said, he would of acted the same way. And it's worked, your all doubting yourself and feeling like your 10. It's a tactic called " critical dad " and it works on most folk who had strict caregivers. next time someone does this too you, just say nothing, not a squeak, no response just a blank expression, it will seem like time has stopped for you, and will feel very awkward, but the person will just go back to normal as long as you keep stoom!! Now I think you should contact this gentleman and say you have had a think about what he said and he was right, offer to drop the price to £700 p vat but you do want paid upon completion for your generous offer. Or forget it, the job sounds brutal and have a day off and go fishing or go karting:biggrin:
  6. Steel!, someone had placed it over a sapling and the tree kept growing , that's how it got chipped, it must of been about 20 feet up, we chipped a clump of hazel. Anyhoo, new blades on, everything hunky dory!
  7. Chuck a bag of sawdust on it, let it soak up the rough of it, give it a going over with an old towel and then wash it, job done.
  8. He's under that stem, ouch!!!!!
  9. That was deader then dead! Well done that man!
  10. When you see 8" of beech disappear in seconds, surely a bit of metal can't be that diferent?
  11. I just heard a rattle along the shoot, a big rattle!! It still chipped small brash up to 5" but struggled with bigger. It never stalled, maybe 150hp behind it helps! Haven't rummaged through the chip yet to see what we find.
  12. I'm waiting till I find an aqua prop Huck:biggrin:
  13. Well today was the day, after 12 years of owning my own Chippers, it finally happened. Metal got into my chipper, it was an old 2 feet long piece of steal scaffold. It was in a clump of ivy wrapped around silver birch. Now awaiting new blades.
  14. A new saw is a very good investment, take your time and save up and go to your local dealer or a show and get a good deal. As far as if one is stolen, then ask to see a copy of he receipt and the serial number before you buy:001_smile:
  15. That's gutting mate, every day it's the same thing, where is all this stuff going?

  17. That bad news, I hope your future posts are happier ones:)
  18. Less of what your doing is my only advice. If your a climber, Ditch the top handle for a while, go back to rear handle saw for climbing and do it old school not cut n hold. If you prussik 1 side, change climbing technique to hand over hand.
  19. Get a big splitter on it:thumbup:
  20. Let the bat guy do it, and go and find a better customer.
