  1. me an group started up last year would have helped out as best we could but were completely out, once the shoot season finishes were gettin in the woods this year gota a big barn to fill.
  2. been doin freelance for 5+ years now as well as doin my own jobs, got 5 contractors i work with its hard work but it does pay my latest contractor told me i was the best hed had in after the first day and recommened me to others, personality make up for a lot tho he jokingly said hed employ me for sheer entertainment value had him laughin that much lol.
  3. I have problems as well you learn to live with it, thatl teach me to use guns with no hearin protection then chainsaws most days o well.

  5. im on my 3rd l200 bags of naff the latest 1 has only lasted a year an a half tryin to bin the dam thing gona see about a ford ranger, 90 defender or the trusty hilux.

  7. spend the money on a proper pair take shreks offer you dont want to skimp on climbing kit. i wouldnt wear those things to spike trees if ya paid me 200 a day.
  8. treemeup's got it, i do the same if im close enough i come down a bit an swing meself or get the groundie to help.
  9. not too bad only bashed a bimmer with some cord wood and nearly cut my thumb off.
  10. yes 5+ years climbing/groundy experience with tickets including ua1, a PTS card and all my own kit.

  12. id be interested, got PTS, medical, the neccessary chainsaw tickets an all my own kit. Would perhaps need somewhere to stay for the week end tho.
  13. Self employed climber with 5+ years of experience got all my own kit looking for work in Norfolk or suffolk im based just outside of Norwich and will take a ground work job if anyones short of a groundy.
  14. what about this i had a fella come up to me while doin some road side work asked me to look at a heavily leaning pine had a good look all round but couldnt find any problems, few months later im passin the place and see its leaning very heavily i stop take another look and the grounds cracking and can see roots at the back. I walked straight into the office an told him my findings his reply was hes got some other crew watching it for him, to which i said fine get them to have a look and its still standing, its in a auction site and overhangs several stalls and is also where the main path to the auction building is. Should i go back and hav another look or leave it, bearing in mind this site is very local and have close friends down there quite often.
  15. i climbed in a weavers for just over 4 years they are truly indestructible ive kept it for sentimentality but i changed to petzl sequoia last year and doubt il change but i dont think itl last as long as the weavers. just make sure you try others before goin for a weavers.
  16. when it comes to a climbing saw dont skimp as a climber you need somethin that can take the work and the damage, my ms200t for over 5 years and its never gone wrong and its been swimming twice and dropped on concrete ground saws buy what ya like but aerial stick with stihl.
  17. all i carry is a secondary line and my saw dont carry extra kit unless i have to.
  18. I havent climbin many years but i know for sure a jacket for climbin is a no go youd get too hot and i bet it would be over priced as is everything to do with climbing. If iv got to protect myself abit on a job ie leyland (yuk) or a big hawthorn then i put a couple of layers on if anythin gets thro take the pain, had a goodun the other day blackthorn straight the bottom of my boot that made walkin interestin for a couple of days.

  20. coversure lad cheapest i found covered for as high as i need, some companies u gotta be carefull as they will only cover upto 30ft.
  21. I always make sure ive got super glue and gaffer tape with me.
  22. hesslemount got it in one, got my pts monday, tuesday next work could well be online by wednesday if the boss man gets hold of bridgeons.
  23. had my medical last week got my pts booked for next week looking forward to getin some more money in the back.
  24. Ive recently only got my helmet got sent the wrong colour by honey bros but decided not send it back as id waited so long but i should be getting some rail work and now cant use it as its red so anyone out there got a blue stein hat they might want to swap?
