Cheers mate Not first unfortunately, checkout the spiderjackery thread, But first in the uk maybe,

    Pimp my lanyard

Haven’t weighed it yet But doesn’t feel to much heavier than the rope by itself, And isn’t that much bigger than a coiled 5m bundle Made it from an old vacuum with a retractable cable my old lodger left Steve, just push a button and it whizzes back inn easily make it lighter, losing the big black dmm pulley would be a good start, did have a small plastic stein one but gave it away, also the casings made from electric cable, (from the same vacuum) could quite easily be hollow tube.
  5. Inspired by the spiderjackery. arb Inventions and the next big thing threads had a look round the house, see what bits I could find andcame up with this. introducing the LSD Retractable lanyard mk1 it’s a bit bulky, but with some tweaking I recon I can lose a third off the size and weight, would be about the same as harness bag then, I could use thinner rope but opted for blaze so its still compatible with most hardware/ hitch cord, maybe a bit too big to be “the next big thing” I’m just chuffed that it works:thumbup:
  6. Any good for work? Zips don't break ext? mr jones has got them going cheap at the mo Thinking of picking one up to match me troos, maybe i'll get some pants as well to complete the look

  8. Can probly get you a target andy you can have it setup under the plane tree at next years ww&w:sneaky2:
  9. Cheers steve! Andy sorry to hear that your plans have fallen through, but sure we can russel something up, will be free passes on offer for anyone who wants to come along and help out, have a climb or do a demo , just bring your cs card with you. Its a good little fair, with lots going on for all ages.
  10. Thanks paul just wached it again , for some reson vid came up much more clearly this time Looks like a good simple setup for me asi aready have a kong (i know the petzl ones are better )and. I guess as i have L&R patins i can use one on each foot ,
  11. To all of the above well done majestic i've been trying to work it out too, tried the sliding double fishermans that scott posted on treetools bit like a chinese puzzle couldn't work out how you could get the not to sit above the eyes so you can use it as a prussic, itms i gave up in the end, Just one Q. how have you tied off you prussic, cant tell from the pic?
  12. Cheers taylor never seen that prussic before, Thought i was using the 8mm sirus, but turns out it's 10, And like hama says that speed line does look smart, think im gonna have to book myself on a treeimagineers course when one comes my way pretty much own the range, just need to learn how to use it:biggrin:
  13. No worries got it for my lanyd anyway, where it'll most likely stay,if i get the ps can that when needs b, For the price the Pinto should have come with a spacer stop misconfigs ext.. Imo Problem with a splice is you can't use it for anything else,
  14. Yep think i'm gonna go for the pully saver as my next purchase, Ps does anybody know where you can get the spacers for the smal pinto? I've tried tying two fishermens to the eyes but they're a bit big
  15. Wat's is his setup for the accent, can't realy see on the vid, looks like a srt access line, then he sends up his climbing line and clips the kong into both, is that right?
  16. :confused1:Shocking! I've never used a 020 on the ground, milled up in the van or miss-id a tree, the bloke's just a chancer, it happens across the bord, had a quote for my windows, not so long ago, already had a price from some local guys at just over 3g, but thought i'd try a big firm just to see what they came up with, first quote they gave me was £15.000,nealy chocked on my coffee buy the time i kicked him out the door, it was down to £5.000, makes you wonder how many people go for the first offer they get. If he doesn't like the price get a second qutote, sure there's enougth tree firms out there.

    Work In NZ

That's good news, on my way out there june/july,
  18. : get yourself a rope guide chap, you'll never look back.
  19. Just got a mutisaver, works well for that:thumbup:
  20. The lage ones are a pita, but the good out ways the bad imo, good for spreading the weght, big saws, moving blocks about, and my rope guide sits pretty nice in there aswell, even took a shovel up once to help get rid of some ivy off a pole bad for clipping on branches, fences, and worst of all, the dam door latch on the landy,..
  21. Had a play with this setup today, works pretty well, but not as good as the hc (imo) the pinto does hold the eye well away from the hitch but at the cost of adding a kink/ more friction to the fairleand, as it, runs over the bottom carb( although this might work better with a spacer: I was climbing with fishermans on the outside, but having a e2e on the inside looks neat, good for a side lanyard, but not so sure about the dangers of a long decent with the rope running over the eyes of my hitch,
  22. Get yourself a cs38 and ua1 mate. Loads of utility work in essex but you'll need them at least not the best job in the world, but it is tree work (well kind of) I t's work anyway
  23. Cool the large one is the rig, large size rope is handy for choking, also if its anything like the RG always better to hang it a bit loose
