  3. Its all good tv though!
  4. Worked doing xmas trees a few years ago alongside a danish guy. He told me that an old boy he used to work with on the trees drank Calsberg Special Brew dawn to dusk. When the company he worked for told him H&S wasnt going to allow it anymore he had to stop. His productivity dropped by half and within 2 weeks he was back on special stuff!!
  5. My first boss was proper old school and I learnt on most of the above including that bloody 3 strand rope!! Also he had the fixed strops and I was so over the moon when he bought an adjustable lanyard. Lowering was all done with a blue nylon rope and no pulleys. No top-handled saws as that was too new school for him...it was all husky 141s on a strop. Rigger boots and sip chaps with jeans underneath was a must. I did get him to change a bit but he always said Keep It Simple Stupid and not a bad point:thumbup1:
  6. Yeah no wonder he can afford all that with those robbing prices:sneaky2:
  7. Yeah he can identify a leaf but not price a job up!! We all need to complain to Watchdog about that guy pushing our industry under:laugh1:

    tattoo thread

Have had two on my back and regret them both. Things you do when your young lol! Good experience getting them done but both will be removed!
  9. Thanks for the comments guys and def came out nice. Was dreading it a wee bit as looked a tough 1 from the deck. However once I got up the cuts were all ok. The client did go out just after I started. He came back after I was done and I left my rope up in anticipation of that line "can I have another couple of feet off"!! I had carefully thought out the escape plan that "if I took more off it would look stupid etc" but thankfully he was ok with it! Cheque and written reference at the end of the day, so all in all tip top!
  10. Don`t underestimate the Silky. Chances are you will have more accidents with it than a chainsaw. Treat it like a chainsaw IMO. I have the scars to prove it and i`m sure many others do aswell!
  11. Or put your visor down when fag in mouth!!
  12. Awesome view at the top. Where abouts was it?
  13. Before and after shots from Copper Beech reduction yesterday morning. Bit wet but all went well:001_smile:
  14. Was in a Peugeot 406 estate and yeah I just passed as you came out the jct. Fridays are my Landscaping days in the summer hence in the car! Work is busy busy thankfully, had a few quiet months but all in all v good. Hows things with you? Bet the new truck is helping things!
  15. I used to drive one with a sprayer fitted to the back. That was my money making days in school holidays. Real good vehicles but the tyre changes from fat to thin or vice versa were always a bugger lol
  16. Down ampney is home for me so pretty close. Was on way back from Burford and saw you coming out of the jct at the Malborough pub then slowed down to look at the van. Was only till I saw the back I knew it was yours. I want 1!
  17. Top job with the van. Saw it today in Fairford and looking v good m8! You should be taking orders
  18. I use Gill gloves. Get them at Pro Climber. Really good!
