    Poplar Job

I had 80 Poplar trees next to the M50 to remove at the end of June. They were felled due to the size and proximity to the motorway. I hired a tracked Vermeer BC100XL which when working was awesome, although unfortunately the hire company decided to try and kill it before giving it to us!! I had Theocus (David Shephard) on board and we bashed it out in 8 days. Enjoy the pics!!

    Ufc 116!!

Going to be an awesome show. Cant bloody wait!!!
  3. Well the machine is up and running again thank god. The hire company changed the filters, hydraulic oil and few other little bits and pieces yesterday. Went over last night and fired a load of big stuff through and it ate it up easily..... Fact is that the machine should have been running like this all last week and not just been given to us with a new set of blades, we lost about 2hrs a day after it didnt want to play and over 6 days that all adds up. Back at it again tomorrow and Thursday so fingers crossed all goes well and can get the job done. Many thanks go to David (Theocus) for all his help on the job, coping with the chipper problems and change of days in his already hectic schedule.
  4. Cheers, tho the pics were all down to my groundies. Was a real shame in burning all the firewood but just had to be done!
  5. Yeah wasnt ideal but had no other real options plus i do weigh about the same as a 10yr old:lol:
  6. Yeah on the list for the show, lost my last one.......
  7. Few from end of last week. Four trees climbed, rigged and felled with all waste burnt on site. A hot one for the groundies though lifting all the timber to the fire plus being 25deg. Just glad I was up the tree most of the time!!
  8. Great thanks for the advice, much appreciated!! Yeah it is acer pensylvaticum.
  9. Hits home every time.....stay safe guys!!

    Ufc 113

What was paul daley thinking with that punch after the fight!? It was embarrassing and he's an douchebag for doing it. Same old story with the takedowns, although at least he put up a fight not to go down and he took no damage while on back. What a fight for shogun, bam bam bam TKO! Kimbo also got owned!!
  12. Looking for 12" Tracked chipper to hire for about a week in Gloucestershire. Any ideas?? Cheers
  13. Stihl type C for me and although very comfortable they rip soo easily!! Both pairs I have had rip on the left side just above the knee. If they used the material on the bottom of the trousers furthur up it would eliminate this, however would probably make them even hotter. Think am going to have a look at some Stretch-Airs for my next pair though. Look for some deals at the Arb show!!
  14. Yeah I hate that kind of attitude. Few guys I was foreman too a while ago were like that and ended up in blows as my rage just built. Im really lucky now as have got a young lad just out of school and he is awesome. Really hard worker, good attitude and I have to say that at just 16 I am envious of where he is going to end up. I have always been a hard worker but when I did start off in tree work I did piss about a little bit now and again. I just cant get over his work ethic, even when im up the tree working away and glance down he is always looking for work, dragging brash, raking, chipping etc....amazing. He even went out of his way to get a chainsaw ticket and his own saw over xmas! I really want to keep him and tbh am paying him very well for it but I think he could rise up the ladder quickly and might only get a few years before he wants to start himself!

    ARB Lunch

Have to say I never get sick of them! However do eat pasta from the previous eve if there is some left over and really notice the difference when climbing! When I worked in Brazil we had rice and beans every lunch time. Came with meat and veg and was kept warm in a thermos thing and have to say that was the muts aswell. Only prob was getting up at 5am to make it lol!
  20. Really good job Rupe, enjoyed all the pics and vids. Looked a very professional undertaking from start to finish. Thanks for sharing!
