  1. Yeah fair enough go with what works for you. Love my huskys for general works but I do use sthil for climbing and yeah its a brilliant saw. Never had any problems with my huskys. Each to their own eh:001_smile:
  2. If this guy you subby for can`t start them or mend them himself and indeed claims they rattle, you should probably begin to wonder is his knowledge about saws as good as his skills for fixing/servicing them!
  3. 090 still being produced in Brazil and when I was in Brazil I saw them being used. Guys felling gum trees in shorts and t-shirts. I was shocked at the lack of safety and they were rough as fook as well. Hung up trees they just walked up them and cut points to make them fall....a different world. Old boss had an 090. A bugger to start, heavy, drank fuel and didn`t cut that well but at the end of the day did the job!

    Which saw?

Needing new big saw. Has to be 36"+ bar. Looking at husky 3120xp or Sthil ms660 or ms880. Am being swayed to the 660 but the husky 3120 I do love. Ideas would be much appreciated!
  5. Good work mate. Agree that you need a few more pics but other than that the layout is real good. Hoping to get your sis to do mine at some point this year!

    School work

I have been contacted by a company called "Schemes". They publish booklets with tradesmens details and hand them around schools. They want a £100 for a year. Anyone had experience of this and if so is it worth it?
  8. Blow blow blow £££££££££
  9. Top vid mate. Where abouts in Edinburgh was it?
  10. Indeed. Again! Best job in the world.
  11. Dont do it IMO. Its 70/30 they will die really. I`ve done it before reluctantly most of the times they have died or looked awful!
  12. Yeah totally. Cheers 4 that and nice to see a good vid and top website. Keep it up m8!
  13. Or endless sawdust on the bedroom floor/rest of house. Think the hoover and the mrs does more hrs cleaning that up than I do working lol! I dont hate it but quite amusing!!

    Tips

Also did a Sunday job on a beautiful winters day and got invited in for sunday lunch, which we accepted obviously. After soup, roast lamb then apple crumble and custard I needed three cups of coffee just to get out of the chair let alone get up the tree again!!!
  16. I saw this(no pun intended) in my local dealership alongside the husky and sthil versions. Sthil was most expensive.....i`ll let you guess what followed!

    Tips

Whats the best tip any of you have had? I used to work for Dominos Pizza when I was at Uni and it was £40-£50 a nite standard, plus a pizza. Happy days! Best I had with tree work was £50 and a bottle of malt for a two week job. I`m sure there has been better and how regularly do you guys get them?

Been on yell.com for two months and not the best. Only had a few calls but waiting for the yellow pages in April so fingers . I feel that local forums or newsletters are the best, 75% of my work comes from these1
  19. Someone get on the tv. The more publicitly about our profession/arbtalk the better IMO!
  20. Yes!!! Thats on a par with the nails and wire. Plus when they hide the cake/biscuits lol! Or when you tell them you will log the tree, then they look at you with and say " how is that going to fit in my fire" aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3rd is pure addiction
  22. I remember having the nokia waterproof and bashproof phone. Was brilliant for work. Phone companies need to compensate for our and similar industries needs when making phones. Even if it was a bit more expensive, if it would last I would buy it.
  23. Good luck mate, have a good one. Sorry to hear bout the job. Keep chin up!
