  1. I use my saw for ripping planks that i have cut with my chainsaw mill. The blade i use is a ripping blade filed to a cross cut angle, which means i can use it for both with out altering the tooth profile. The only down side is logs cross cut have a ragged edge.
  2. You will have change the angle of the teeth to convert it to a ripping saw. Some where on here was posted how to sharpen saw bench blades, and he explains the difference between the two.
  3. Cheers for the replies peoples. I ended up drilling out the head, to leave the stud. Removed the water pump, and used a stud extractor with a 2' extension bar to shift the ruddy thing. Heat would have not helped as the bolt is 5" long. However the tip of the bolt about 1/16" is still left in the enginne block, so i will have to pack the new bolt with a couple of washers.
  4. The Himalayan Lilly can not be natural. Braver man than i for the swim.
  5. The last bolt on my water pump is stuck fast, and as a result of my efforts is nicely rounded Should i: Weld on a bigger nut (Not sure hoe i am going to hold the nut on until it is tacked on) Drill out the middle and tap in one of those star shaped stud remover

  7. Nothing will stop poplar from trying to regrow. My stack put out shoots waiting to be picked up, about a foot of growth in ten days.

  10. They are black mountain flies, and do not just live in mountains. They have a bite as bad as a horse fly. Luckily they are normally only around till June, just in time for the horse flies to take over. :thumbup:

  15. If they want instant effect some of the shrubs such as viburnam, dog wood, crab apple, guilder rose, elder, honey suckle, spindle, will all provide color at different time of the year, and because of there small size will cope better with the lack of top soil.

  21. The saturated depends on whether it comes from animal or vegetable origin. But as with all things everything in moderation. If you eat a bag of crisps every day, it is the same as drinking 5L of oil a year. Bring on the heart attack
