If after that nothing is done about it, make sure that you fill in the feed back sheet that you will have to do at the end of the course. In addition if you are still unhappy and you feel that the course has not been run properly, phone the assessment centre and NPTC. Once a compaint has been made then it will be looked into and hopefullly sorted out.
  6. Having a tidy up and i have found a compete 026 parts diagram with all the stihl parts numbers. As mine has now gone to the great forest in the sky it is of no use. Is it of any use to anybody out there ? P.M. me your address if it is. P.S. in the unlikely advent that lots of people want it, i will draw one at random P.P.S it is a paper copy.
  7. The long fibers will clog everything.
  8. Where ever you have your secondary/ strop attached there will alway be a small amount of movement that has been generated by the cutting action of the chain. Once you have been climbing a while you will not notice.
  9. Quad or similar with a mounted winch. Use the winch to lower/raise yourself up and down the slope, and have a flail mounted on the back of the quad. You will need some good anchors at the top of the slope.
  10. Yes it will, as i have one in mine. The engine mounts need to be moved, and bell housing needs to be modified, and all the pipes at the front of the enginne need to be lenghtened.

  17. You have to be ruthlessly effecient, and prepared to work long hours. You will also need to outlay on some expensive equipment.
  18. Tie one end to something. Lay out all the rope, and pull it till all the rope is off the ground, and let go. Repeat a couple of times and loosely coil.

  20. Luck or extreme skill
  21. Cool photos. I have not been there for nearly 20 years, and it is still beautiful.
  22. Nothing works over glasses. I have perscription glasses with with sides whuch is have found to be a good comprimise. But are still not partularly effective in windy weather. Starting to think that contact lens and goggles might be the way forward.
  23. Yes they are shallow rooted. The wood is thin and bendy, and the bark is easly damaged. Good tree to gain confidence. In fifteen years of climbing and15 stone i have yet to break an anchor. Standard lowering with a rope, pully and slings will cope with silver birch. Take your time and learn from your mistakes.
