  1. Woe, woe and woe again...beware the eyes of November! Here we go with all the old wives tales of how to forecast the weather
  2. I am pretty desperado for a wee chipper tbh. How much is it btw?
  3. Any chance of an on site demo in Kent? I'm interested in a 500.
  4. Nah can't imagine anyone rubbing sandpaper over new rope, it makes me cringe just thinking about it. You sure he ain't pulling yer pisser.
  5. Had one of those ten ton things off Jonesie about three years ago. Only use it for personal stuff and it's probably no quicker than by hand but it don't arf save your energy for other things. Faultless so far.
  6. I've got connie hedges on my books that I've been doing for twenty years plus that are less than seven foot wide. Haven't had the odd one die yet.
  7. Timing is important for conifer hedges. March to April if it's a regular once a year pure trimming job, that way you won't disturb any nesting birds, it'll look neat for the summer and put some protective growth on for the winter. I've seen some nice hedges ruined by people being too meticulous about keeping Connie's nice n short all year round and it just doesn't happen. Wider at the base is good like others have said. Trim back to last years growth points, it'll stop it creeping out and encourage it to grow inwards making it more dense. Avoid trimming in June cos it'll burn the cut ends. Long handled hedge trimmers every time for me.
  8. Waste of money IMO. I just put a tenner away each week to cover any bills.
  9. An Arbtalk rallie would be good, August bank holiday, 3 or 4 nights somewhere middle ish of the country. What we need is a member with a few acres that we could camp on.
  10. I'm paying £128 a quarter for a 23' van Pete but that's temporary because it's within walking distance from my house. I've found storage five miles away for as little as £340pa.
  11. Mk5 Automatic Cortina Paul, great for towing.
  12. Twenty odd years ago this is what we had.
  13. Amazed at how things have changed in twenty years. Blown air central heating, fitted double bed with en-suite shower and loo, fly screens and blackout blinds. No wonder they call it glamping these days. Bought this last week and can't wait to get away.
  14. He might of understood that if you'd said 'cheers old boyo'
  15. Yeah its alright if you got nothing else to do on a wet afternoon..... That is excellent....
  16. Pink syrup, bottom left corner, whats that all about?
  17. Now I feel really guilty for sitting here infront of the stove. Here comes the wife with a steaming hot brew and three free range eggs on toast......the guilt trip didn't last long. Good luck for Friday and get well soon Paul.....
  18. No I wasn't trying to be awkward. It's raining, people are bored......
  19. I'd run that straight into the log burner..... Seriously though, looking good so far. Don't forget to show us the finished article.....
