  1. Sound advice guys thanks. The fact that you need to know how to use the stuff had indeed occurred to me, I've been the following the thread on Celox products with interest thinking just that! Got a standard EFA refresher course coming up so will see how I feel after that.
  2. Yeah I'd been looking at this one. With it saying 1-50 people I thought it may be a bit overkill!
  3. So looking to get a new first aid kit for work. Team size can be anywhere between 2 and 5. Can anyone recommend a good kit that is aimed at arb work?
  4. Only if it's cracked.....
  5. That's the news I was hoping for, thanks Mark. Just hope my supplier has them if this one goes the same way
  6. Well so far so good on the 3rd but, yes, the first two both developed hairline cracks at the top rivet. The first one lasted a few months, the 2nd only 2 weeks! I should add that I absolutely love it, and am happy that It's not going to drop me out the tree. Just wish petzl had tested this a bit better....
  7. Do you know if Petzl will start to replace the mark 2 with a 3 in relation to the known problem? I bought my first zigzag 5 months ago and I'm already on my 3rd! Would be nice to think I'll get a free upgrade! 2 in 1000.....
  8. Just put mine through the washing machine. 30 degrees, bit of powder. Put it in loose and full spin. Pretty much came out dry! 20 mins laid out on carpet in front of log burner and good to go (me and the rope!)
  9. Evening All So discussing LOLER with a colleague today and debating whether or not a tool strop falls under the regs or not. Its not strictly lifting or lowering anything, but then if it came loose a 200T could do some serious damage. I'm thinking they probably should.....Can anyone set the record straight for me? Cheers
  10. Only when it gets really full, but certainly nothing to worry about. Takes all of 2 mins with a rake and a blower to tidy up. When my tarp finally gives up the ghost I'll prob look to replace with skip net, but that's more to deal with water issue rather than blowback Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Yeah not sure you want to block your view of discharge chute.... I've got the same set up but have a heavy duty tarp bungeed over top of chip box , works a treat. Not much dust comes out at all. Only issue is when it rains and I forget to either unclip the tarp or stick a branch in to prevent pooling water on top. Have nearly soaked a pedestrian when pulling out my drive and about 10litres of rain water cascaded over side of landy!! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Well I think so. They are type c and have the words Gladiator Ventilation on them..... Got them at the arb show and was sold them on the basis these were the daddy! Wish i'd stuck with the normal Pfanner type c. I think I'll be trying out the sip next, heard good things Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Here's my tipper. Bought it off a tree surgeon in Essex, not sure if he's on here or not, but he had converted it himself and had obviously put some love into it over time. Its my first LR, def not my last!
  14. Brilliant in every respect but way too hot! much hotter than the original stretchairs in my opinion. I'm thinking of keeping them as winter trousers and getting something else for summer!
  15. Yes everyone got out OK, scary stuff at 4am. Nightmare Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. This house got struck a few doors down from a friend of mine a few weeks back! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Vents. Although the new vent around the waist seems an odd place considering it's covered by my belt! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. I've just swapped to gladiators type c from the old type c stretch airs. Got size M in both and the gladiators are a bit tighter on the leg, but a better fit for my 32" waist. I regret getting them though, I seem to get MUCH hotter in the gladiators.... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Sounds like a fair price for you and a groundie, considering everything being left on site. Once you're done will you tell us how long it really took? Be it longer or shorter than what you expect? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. I've never in my life found a polo shirt that is comfy or more importantly cool to work in. Horrible things! I think vests are fine as long as they are uniform, branding etc... I wear what's practical. I've suffered heat exhaustion before so if a vest helps to stay cool I'll wear one. Only problem with vests is more sun cream needed! Only bother with hi vis when on roadside/pavement or out in woods when hard to see each other Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Thanks Adam. Looking at what I can find online that is certainly looking like a match. Online info seems pretty limited, do you know of any control measures that can be taken to treat it?
  22. Evening all Would anyone be able to offer any ideas re this Plum tree? The owner said it was fine last year but then a large limb had suddenly died and now it is shedding some leaves. I found a few bracket fungi present, both new and old. Still seems to be fruiting well. Cheers:confused1:
  23. Yeah that was what I was hoping to do but couldnt find any local suppliers with the right size sling. Next size up would be HUGE!! Will find one online no doubt.
  24. So here's my solution in the short term. I can see how a pantin and a rope grab would enhance the whole system though. Not to mention vastly reducing the effort! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Cheers for the feedback guys. Think a sling is the way to go. Although I'm sure I could get used to it, I was hoping that the ZZ would make life easier on my wrists and the idea of pulling with just one arm isnt that appealing. Itching for a big job now so I can have a good session with it. Seems a bit OTT for the apple tree I have for tomorrow!
