  1. Theres a lot more to it ........ but this pretty much sums it up ... Hardly giving themselves a glowing reference .
  2. Have you Badgers around that area ? Sure is a strong candidate
  3. Not distel ..... but ive been making my own spikes for nearly 3 years now . Just to clarify .... gaffs only . Seems to be a massive gap in the market for an intermediate spike .. Longer than a pole gaff but shorter than a tree gaff . I couldn't buy them so I made them .... so glad I did
  4. Cheers matey .... Hope your well and keeping busy Splitters going well .
  5. Thanks for the reply's people . I tried the sledge hammer route ....many years ago ...and ended up blowing the seals off . Only reason I,m considering a press is because my local agricultural fitter keeps pushing the small jobs back . Slightly annoyed as I gave him loads of work when he had ....none
  6. Evening people ....I hope you guys n gals have had a better week than me Bearings gone on my stumpy again .. Not to mention the old Apple tree that was full of metal .... buts it happened and im still having nightmares about those new chains trashed in seconds Just asking will a 10 tonne machine mart bearing press ....happily push my new bearings onto the shaft of my rayco 20hp grinder ? Any information will be most grateful . Warm Regards to all
  7. Bandit do a mean chipper tipper combo .. Chipper and tip trailer on the same chassis ....... They call them chip box combos if Im not mistaken .
  8. I kinda .... don't like how you've got the name Petzl ...wrong ? Along with the fact ....your talking twaddle .... but some of your mush makes sense .... : )
  9. 408 kg ......
  10. I'll give that.... burning fence panel trick ... a try very soon . Cheers
  11. My old boss used to have fires all the time . His motto was ( little and often ) A big old smoldering burn is going to attract lots of attention He did once hire in a large tub type grinder / shredder . This cleared all of our old hedge trimmings and sweepings ...including a few stumps and the old timber pile which was part rotten . We were left with the pile of shreddings ..which on the whole were fairly decent . An Estate nr to us had most of the shreddings and the rest was just left to rot down .
  12. Google ... or find him on you tube ( Tree Fool ) episode 2/3 ascension
  13. I can set it up from the ground with the addition of a pulley and a hand held ascender its easy ? Set the static line with a throw sack first ....
  14. Listen guys I really couldn't care Srt or not ..... Its a single rope utilized in a way that helps a 46 yr old man get up to the top of a tree easier than ddrt . Its very funky .... well it is for me . Id love to see some of you .....young guns climbing on 3 strand nowadays. Its how all of us old nogs where taught ... In fact why don,t some of you pups try it
  15. I use srt for canopy access ...then switch over to ddrt when I reach my anchor point . Im 46 yrs old and i just love my prussic . Its a bomb proof knot ... binds up ....a lot ....but it dont slip . I like the rads system for access with a petzl grigri and a pulley ...not forgetting the foot loop and hand ascender . Which are not always needed .
  16. I,ll second that
  17. Always better to be safe than sorry
  18. I have tried loads of throw lines over the years . It really annoys me when they are sold as none tangle ..... and then become a birds nest overnight Even after carefully threading back into the bag .
  19. I am now retracting my offer . All the best .
  20. Got a yard Nr Kidsgrove full of the arbwaste .
  21. Agree with Joe ... Sometimes there is no chance of ever changing the customers mind . The dollars are always better off in your own pocket . This type of work is far for ideal , But hey if you don't do it they will get someone who will ......and most likely the other contractor will do a terrible job
  22. Remove the first and last fence panel ....attach a suitable rope to something substantial that extends from the first panel to the last and lower the grinder off that as needed . Hope this makes sense . We,ve lowered off our capstan many a time on bank work from two points ..... but many a time Ive only needed one anchor point ..... Lowering a stumpy off a portawrap is second nature to one of my trusted guys
  23. Happy for you My go to 11mm line is English Braids at £135 inc vat...for 100m its just amazing value . Bought from Dicks Climbing in Bristol ....Super helpful guys ...who know there stuff . Glad your happy with your new rope .
  24. Fit a cheap engine and sell it ... simple . Claw as many dollars back as you can ... Do not point out the faults ...Let the buyer find them .. All the best
  25. treefolk;1532188]? Have you read the thread through? I've said a few times that I don't need any money from this, but if i get some then great. Why do you feel the need to pick holes or try to catch me out? If anyone really wants it then pm me, it's getting boring having to justify everything to people who aren't even interested so I'm making an exit! Don,t stress matey ....Sky huck ...lol Well he just can,t help picking fault with other peoples post,s. Crack on bro...hopefully someone can put it to good use . Does make cracking fence posts though . Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
