  1. I have no idea what that launcher was. But I want one really badly.
  2. Why un-box them? I don't get that. And who is buying them? Real tree blokes wouldn't touch iffy saws, and the dids appear to have plenty already. Weekend warriors on Flea-Bay? Feet first through a blunt wee chipper is too good for these parasites. Glad you've Fort-Knoxed the gaff Justin.
  3. I love the red boiler suit mate, but it does make your a**e look chunky.
  4. Good workhorse, but nowt cuts low good for very long!
  5. Easy on the Schnapps Justin. See if you can persuade my mate Andreas to make a decent bar cover will you? 2-piece bit of plastic crap on a £1000 saw is hardly the cutting edge of Teutonic efficiency! Every cutter on here would pay £20 for a one piece light ally cover. Tell them to do the maths! Have a good 'un mate.
  6. Had him before. All polite until I said I'd do it if it wouldn't cost me anything. His twang kicked in as he exploded with 'Oh yeah, and I suppose you'd cut my trees down for f*** all?' Really aggressive like. Not nice, swearing, so I suggested perhaps we could meet up for a gentlemanly sparring session and he hung up.
  7. Havn't had that pleasure yet mate, but the pink pound is as good as anyone elses!
  8. Sorry, that's polo shirts. The t-shirts were £6.95.
  9. Dickies do them, yellow or orange with reflective stripes. £10.40 inc. VAT. Not sure how breathable they are, mind, 'cos it was snowing when I wore mine for the first time the other week and I had about 6 layers on!
  10. Aahhh - I was getting muddled about which bit was being lowered, I thought you were throwing the line over the bit about to be cut, then lowering off the purple strop, but I see now it's the other way round. Got it after reading your thread in climbing forum, and yes, I have ended up with lines chokered round limbs they are not meant to be on, you cheeky wee monkey! Think you could be onto a winner here Stevie. I'm going to have a play with it for sure. You'll have to come up with a name for it, and maybe post one of your instructional vids?
  11. Stick a pic of your knob up John. You won't see this thread for dust.....
  12. If I'm getting this it looks the nuts - pull line and lowering line in one? Is there not a risk though that the line will not choke up round the limb and it could slip out?
  13. Nathan, did he sound posh at first, then his voice changed to a Scouse twang when he got annoyed?
  14. Love the aerial shadow lunge. What's with all the complicated ropes?
  15. I hear ya there, bro. How can you tell when someone selling advertising is lying? Their lips are moving.....
  16. Nah, left it big, but I'm glad it wasn't my argument because it got quite heated! Bloke was a chancer, but the gaffer should have sorted it out before we'd started a saw. Communication is the key! Took down a big pop for Julian Clary once, and he wanted it logged. I explained I hadn't quoted for that, which he was totally cool with, and got an extra £350 for a day sat in the sun busting rings with my electric splitter using his electricity! That was back during much happier times! Off up the yard in a minute to start brushing snow off my log pile......
  17. I don't see what all the fuss is about - most of my reductions look like that. Great job Graham, really natural looking. Like Dave, I'm looking forward to seeing the response.
  18. Nice one Littletree. Good feeling isn't it?
  19. Spme timber down there RB. Nice setup, nice work.
  20. Agreed. It always pays to be specific at the quote stage. If the customer wants to keep the wood, that's fine (and happening a lot more often now!), but I explain it will be left in biggish lumps the way it comes down. If they want it logged it will be extra. Took a big Ash down once as a subby climber, customer keeping the wood. Tree down, two of us stacking large rings, customer came out and said he wanted it cut and split into 6" logs. All 15-17 tonnes of it! Glad it wasn't my job.....
  21. Not much in it TBH. Maybe slightly warmer (when dry!). Smoother grip.
