  1. Saving up for my house in Darras Hall mate!
  2. I think in all honesty you have to treat a 'performance' phone with a bit more care. If you just want to make calls, better stick to a rugged old brute that can take the knocks. That said, I climb with my iphone, perfect sized pocket in Stretch Airs, wrapped in a dog-s*** bag if its really wet!
  3. Needs a crown raise, luv. £600 alright?
  4. Same, of course. Now that WOULD be discrimination!
  5. Noone should work for less than minimum wage, doesn't matter where they come from. There are plenty of jobs around offering minimum wage, but most of them aren't as 'glamorous' as arb. Dragging all week for £80 or flipping burgers in the warm surrounded by teenage girls? Hmmmm, let me think for a minute... BTW, if he's an illegal, him, I hope he chips himself.
  6. Massive Iphone convert here. Always thought it was a poncey poseurs phone, but with the screenguard on and a decent cover its excellent. Great camera and vids as well. I eventually sussed out that so many people are getting them because they are so damn good. Also some really useful apps, Dean you can even download a spirit level app for checking hinges!
  7. I was p***-soaked through and freezing after tipping off at the yard this morning, so decided to stay at home instead. I think I read somewhere that recreational climbing is meant to be fun....
  8. Presumably noone is holding a gun to this blokes head?
  9. No need mate. Old truck, big ladder, cheap saw, hey presto! You are a 'tree surgeon'. You can even say you're fully qualified and insured if you want! Seriously, this site is a great place to start. Watch some vids, look at some pics, read some posts. Local college (Sparsholt?) would be next step. Good luck with it.
  10. Matty, where's that line from at the bottom of your posts? Or is it just generally describing tree work in your area?!
  11. Totally agree with Huck and Peter. Get yourself down, or you're knackered. I think a rescue climbers primary function is to collect gear from the tree after an accident. Or a body....
  12. That could have been pricey Phil! What was on the pull line? A D8?!
  13. I'm loving it as well. It will deffo end in tears for someone!
  14. That was re the first pic. You had some tension on for that fell!
  15. You must have a long bar Frank!
  16. Ditto above. Couldn't agree more!
  17. Get your spikes on you pussy! How close is that line John? Electrickery?
  18. There's a phrase for working on pops like that Matty. "Polishing a turd". Nice woodland work.
  19. Thats some crazy s*** Big 'Ammer, but check out my hardcore effort from this morning. Loads of targets when felling out this huge (approx 120 foot, 15 tonne) side limb, Climbing bag, topper, blower, truck, 440, combi can, chipper and hedge. Beat that one dudes.
  20. What has happened to Mr Bristow? I hope he mended ok after his anchor snappage, and he hasn't posted for ages. Maybe he's left the arb game 'cos its too dangerous and now spends his time on polarbearwrestling.com or similar. Ross? Adam? Hollands? Any clues?
  21. Have to agree Mozza. Small tree with minimal climbing, say £150 takedown, when work is quiet if I pay a groundy he will earn a lot more than me, so I take the chance these days. Slow and steady, no rush. Bigger trees, no way. Rec climbs on my own no bother, but I always try and climb in an environment where my body will be discovered easily.
  22. That's more than reasonable mate. Time he's hired one, transported it, juiced it and fed it himself he may have a different perspective....
  23. Ditto Mozza. Reinforced crotch and Stretch Airs rock! I'm expecting two years easy, with a bit of care. Hiflex comfy and light, but look like tramp pants after a year.
  24. Tea! Off the bevvy for a bit, fertility, health, wealth etc. Not missing the pub really (£3.30 a pint? WTF's that all about?), but do miss a glass or two of red and/or a chilled beer or two in the evening. God, it's been a long month....
