  1. If they're as boring as Stevie's, Josh, don't bother.
  2. Love it Brian. Can't beat a happy customer!
  3. I used to bin pop, willow and conny but they all go on the pile now. As someone said, burning pure hardwoods will not last forever. Seasoned, dry willow and conny will burn better than pretty much anything unseasoned. Especially so for woodburner customers. I reckon you can't beat a good mix for heat and flame. Oak, ash, beam, thorn and birch - lovely. Supplied my local pub with a load of very well seasoned ash (dead takedown) last year, and they bitched because it burnt too hot and too quickly. I offered to p*** on the next lot.
  4. Remember the pics mate. Or I will say I could have done it with a Silky whilst holding the limb in my teeth. And the roof was reinforced wriggly tin.
  5. Simple stick on screen cover here, and cheapo tight fitting rubber cover here (great tip from Rich). Month in, not one scratch. Keep the whole lot in a dog-s*** bag in the pocket of my Stretch Air's when climbing, to further protect from dust and rain!
  6. I come across spaced out divs up my yard all the time. Problem is I am paying them to work for me.
  7. I think you would struggle to find a company willing to hire you a 34m Bronto without an operator! The space issue speaks for itself. A 17.5 tonne truck mount would probably struggle to fit up Mrs. Miggins back passage.
  8. Andy I take it by your non-comment on species they were pops?
  9. 34m Bronto is a great machine, very stable, great outreach, good cage capacity and fast up and down. You'll love it.
  10. Saw that at the Game Fair. Silly money, but I suppose you would need some serious kit to shift it. I would defo grow stuff if I had the space. Time and rainwater are free! What about cannabis plants Dean?
  11. Nice topping, but if that had gone backwards that pull rope would have done f-all! Not with about 18 inches of leverage.
  12. I like the principle, but would the 'anchor' not float round too much? Seems like the whole of your work climb might feel really wobbly!
  13. Apologies X-Man. SWB used to post videos of himself knocking massive tops out of 300 footers with an 880 (which he held in his teeth) all the time. Self-lowered, of course. We have tired of this over the years, and begged him to show us some of his more mundane jobs. This weekend I hope to be giving an out of control hedge a damn good trimming. This baby is nearly 6' tall! I've got to rake the lawn afterwards as well. Should get the adrenaline pumping! I'll be sure to try and post some footage. Have a good day mate, and stay safe. :001_tt2:
  14. What I meant was I like to do the bottom bit first when possible. With a gob and a back cut! True about getting a feel for the tree and removing bits in the way, but the awkward bits should be your primary goal. Huck I can't believe you've put clapping hands under a quote with the word MEWP in it! How much have you had to drink?
  15. Stevie have you still got your 'back of tree only' spikes?
  16. Fellas what do you call the cut that works on really heavy laterals? 2 undercuts at about 45 degrees meeting in the centre, top cut slightly back. Can't remember the bloody name! Sounds like this would work in this situation, but upside down as such.
  17. If that Beech burns ok Stevie will be making some kind of 'seasoning processor' by mounting an industrial freezer unit on a D8 chassis. Can't wait for pics!
  18. Moz it may be worth checking if you can upgrade now. Iphone tariffs are price fixed, and you can often upgrade early as long as you lock in to a new contract. Best phone I've ever had, easy. Rumour has it that the next generation out this summer will have a better camera, but if you waited for model up stuff all the time you would never buy anything!
  19. Is the job finished Stevie? Been a great series of vids. Especially the 'don't try this at home kids' trick at the end!
  20. Nice work mate. I have a bull rope just like that one!
  21. Totally. Awkward bits first, every time. Added bonus is you can enjoy the rest of the job afterwards.
  22. 'Bit of a mess that one, love. £700 alright?' Stunning.
