  1. Loving every minute Rupe. And a hinge that Dean would be proud of!
  2. That is cracking work. BUT... He must have done it quickly so that the side he did first didn't outgrow the last side! I would love to have more customers who would be happy to pay for a spec that will last less than a year. That's not a dig at all, the work was spot on, great shape, and those babies are very difficult to tip reduce. Nice work. If you can get it!
  3. Top stuff Mike. Love the 'practicing' pic! I have a willow to take down today. Must be nearly 12'. May even need to use a chainsaw. Wheres my passport....
  4. Burning commercial green waste on site is totally legal, and is carried out by both councils and the Environment Agency on a regular basis round here. Problems arise involving transportation, constant nuisance causing smoke, and burning of prohibited material. As Andy has pointed out, there are NO specific laws relating to bonfires. Usually, problems will not occur when common sense is applied. This is when the problems start....
  5. IMO Stihl's virtual monopoly with the MS200T has led to them taking their eye off the ball. Loads of plastic bits compared to O2O (weight/cost saving), carb issues, longevity issues etc. Sort it out Andreas. It's not like you haven't put your prices up or anything. Would love to see a genuine contender wipe away that arrogant Germanic smirk....
  6. Cracking Oak Tony! Good work on a tough spec on your job I thought. Truck looks good, not sure about the colour.
  7. My Mam mentioned material shops. Might pursue that. As for tailors, this is Ashford, Kent mate. No call for pinstripe shell suits!
  8. Never lunge with my pants on mate....
  9. Blew the zip and crotch in my Stretch Airs, need to get in fixed locally and Jonesie will give me a credit note for the receipt (cheers Justin, top man!). The thing is, I can't find ANYWHERE that can do it locally (Ashford, Kent). All the dry cleaners who do 'repairs' say the material is too thick for their machines. Old fashioned seamstresses seem to have disappeared. Any suggestions welcome.
  10. Why not mate? Have you signed the Kyoto agreement then? How much did that little lot weigh do you reckon?
  11. Mans best friend alright. Good call on the chewing. That chunky little black lab ate both window winders and the gearknob in my truck. She's not even mine! Drew, I'm growing the perm out mate. I heard somewhere they'd gone out of fashion??????
  12. The girls on the way to work! Photo courtesey of R. Rule professional iphone photography. Keep an old towel in the truck, wet Jack pup = cold Jack pup. Got a name?
  13. Sorry, forgot to mention the spec was to leave the butt at 10' or thereabouts. Building plot, and the contractor has to dig it out with a 360, and was keen to have a bit of leverage. I bet I look like a right tosser now. Knocking off big lumps on spikes when I could have just flopped it over. I'll be wearing my harness down the pub yet....
  14. Todays willow takedown. Miscalculated the butt size badly. Not much fun trying to knock that knuckle off with a 20" bar. Left the 66 at home, would have been much safer. Some awkward work positioning required to extend the cuts with the 44. Made sure I had central attachments rather than side D's in case the lower cuts hadn't met properly and the stem split. All was good, but lesson learned!
  15. Seriously, hope you sort it out mate. Sounds like it may be quite hard for the council to prove a negative, though. You would think that they may have more pressing issues TBH. Sad.
  16. I live in a virtual palace mate. I mean sweetheart.
  17. Tell them you're gay. They'll probably put new windows and a kitchen in for you....
  18. That butt is looking bigger and bigger Rupe! Looking forward to more already!
  19. Sorry mate, couldn't resist it. You mending OK?
  20. That was my next question. And how does it attach to your harness?
  21. You should get one Drew. You could carry a spare anchor point in it.
  22. Dear newcomer, My prices are currently £15/tonne for seasoned hardwood cut and split to size, delivered. With free kindling. See how he feels about competing with that. What a chancer!
