  1. Credit where credit's due. You are a master of the gypsy stick! How do you get the angle? Climb an adjacent tree?
  2. It must be Adam. I used a screwgate carabiner for lowering everything for years before discovering bending radii etc. on Arbtalk. I would stay small with it though. (And yes, I know the technically correct answer is no. I'm a rebel, what can I say.)
  3. Mr Shutler is quiet tonight. I hope he hasn't pulled a late shift fixing fences, sheds, gutters etc.....
  4. Absolutely classic Les. Great find. I already have one on my Transit. The button says 'Groundy' though.
  5. Good luck with todays stunt fell John! Happy Birthday for yesterday an all.
  6. Same Transit as Tom here,115, and you can't feel a 750KG chipper, and pulls when when fully loaded. Not chipped yet, but I may look into it to improve economy. Mine does seem quite low geared, really revvy even at 60. My old Tranny (90bhp), however, did struggle towing anything up hill. Depends on bhp (or PS now), gearing and age. Think you would be ok for a limited time if you are prepared to go steady and not be tempted to overload.
  7. Film it. If it doesn't fit you can always get £250 from You've Been Framed. It's a win/win buddy. In fact, it's a win/win/win 'cos you can get leathered tomorrow night!
  8. It can John. Trust me, it will just fit.
  9. I'm pretty sure, because my Transit is a 3.5 tonner, I can carry 3.5 tonnes of wood in it. And I obviously don't need a tachograph because they are for lorry drivers.
  10. As Rupe says. Buy a 37m rope then use the same groundy I used a couple of years ago....
  11. He's a cracking looking little little fella. Looks like you took advantage of the same dog blanket from the garage offer that I did!
  12. Have you not got a disc cutter you could have felled it with first?
  13. Love the 2nd one Stevie. Captain Confident not even dropping the clothes line!
  14. Stevie the only target there was your van! Did you have a line on that pop Josh, or does that go against the whole stunt fell ethos? Don't think I have any pics of mine. I'm usually too busy repairing gutters, aerials, tiles etc.
  15. I have no idea what that launcher was. But I want one really badly.
  16. Why un-box them? I don't get that. And who is buying them? Real tree blokes wouldn't touch iffy saws, and the dids appear to have plenty already. Weekend warriors on Flea-Bay? Feet first through a blunt wee chipper is too good for these parasites. Glad you've Fort-Knoxed the gaff Justin.
  17. I love the red boiler suit mate, but it does make your a**e look chunky.
  18. Good workhorse, but nowt cuts low good for very long!
  19. Easy on the Schnapps Justin. See if you can persuade my mate Andreas to make a decent bar cover will you? 2-piece bit of plastic crap on a £1000 saw is hardly the cutting edge of Teutonic efficiency! Every cutter on here would pay £20 for a one piece light ally cover. Tell them to do the maths! Have a good 'un mate.
  20. Had him before. All polite until I said I'd do it if it wouldn't cost me anything. His twang kicked in as he exploded with 'Oh yeah, and I suppose you'd cut my trees down for f*** all?' Really aggressive like. Not nice, swearing, so I suggested perhaps we could meet up for a gentlemanly sparring session and he hung up.
  21. Havn't had that pleasure yet mate, but the pink pound is as good as anyone elses!
  22. Sorry, that's polo shirts. The t-shirts were £6.95.
  23. Dickies do them, yellow or orange with reflective stripes. £10.40 inc. VAT. Not sure how breathable they are, mind, 'cos it was snowing when I wore mine for the first time the other week and I had about 6 layers on!
  24. Aahhh - I was getting muddled about which bit was being lowered, I thought you were throwing the line over the bit about to be cut, then lowering off the purple strop, but I see now it's the other way round. Got it after reading your thread in climbing forum, and yes, I have ended up with lines chokered round limbs they are not meant to be on, you cheeky wee monkey! Think you could be onto a winner here Stevie. I'm going to have a play with it for sure. You'll have to come up with a name for it, and maybe post one of your instructional vids?
